I scored this fight 7 rounds to Terrell 3 rounds to Williams. It’s fought at a very good pace. Each round hard fought. Both guys are in excellent shape and both trying to win.

The best round for Williams was round 3. And the best round for Terrell was round 9.

It was a very rough fight. Terrell controlled most of the fight by beating Williams to the punch then claiming him before Williams could respond. Williams was more willing to trade than Terrell was but Ernie was still fast enough to outfight him in the exchanges. there were plenty of hard punches thrown and landed by both. Terrell just worked harder and landed cleanly more often.

Round one. A fast start for both. Terrell peppered Williams beating him to the punch with one twos and jabs. Williams was chasing but was off target with the counters he tried. Terrell round.

round 2. Williams was trying to work but he couldn’t quite catch up with Terrell who landed a good combination on williams as well as a hard one two before hugging. Williams did get off a couple of left hooks but they were rendered inconsequential by responding blows from Terrell. A Terrell round.

Round Three was Williams big round. He came out smoking. He wobbled Terrell with an explosive attack bundling Ernie to one knee from a clinch. It was no knockdown. But Ernie was hurt. He fought back and began to nail Williams for the remainder of the round but I give the round to Williams for the ferocity he shiwed in the early part of the round. Williams big round.

Round 4 Williams seemed to want to lure Terrell in but it kind of back fired for him because Terrell picked him off from distance. Williams didn’t score. There was no clinching until the last half minute of the round. Terrell

Round 5 was an ineffective round for Terrell. Hurt and hunted by one right and later by a left hook that cut him Terrell head butted Williams and jabbed his way out of trouble. Williams round.

Round 6. Terrells round. He drilled Williams with solid jabs. Landed left hooks between mauling and walking williams backwards during very rough clinches. Williams left eye begins to close. Terrells round.

Round 7. Williams comes forward, takes the ring centre and lands an effective few jabs that break up Terrell s rhythm. Terrell, dancing, lands only ineffective defensive jabs on the backfiot. Williams round.

Round 8 Terrell is on his bike. But suddenly lands 4 aggressive right hands and begins to Smother and maul Williams out of being able to respond effectively. Williams is stalking but gets tied up whenever he tries to unload. A clear Terrell round.

Round 9. Terrrell starts to put it on Williams. He comes forward and swarms Williams. Landing hooks and uppercuts between mauling Williams and leaning on him. It is untidy but he’s the one landing and Williams is the one taking. Williams looks hurt and overwhelmed and too smothered to get off.

Round 10, Terrell is on his bike and looking to see the round out. Williams is chasing and catching the odd defensive jab. He can’t quite catch up to Williams. It is not an eventful round but Terrell is getting away with what he’s doing whereas Williams can’t do what he wants to do. Terrells round but there’s nothing in it.

So long as it was after he was green and before he was shot by a police man.

The original script for end game had them use the time stone to bring pre-shooting Williams to the modern era to crush Thanos

I think first time I saw it I had it 6-4 for Terrell. As you said. Very tough fight. One of the few times Terrell mostly fought this one out.

This was when Terrell got big. He probably surprised Williams with his jab, and the world probably realized a new prospect had just come up.

Watched this fight a couple months back, my scorecard was either 5-4-1 or 6-4 Williams. I think you're the first person I've ever seen who gave the 10th to Terrell (actually laughed out loud at this), he was gassing badly, and holding on for dear life, then again you also tried making a case that Daniels was robbed against Williams despite seeing not even half of the fight, so I guess it's fitting.

I scored this a few years ago and am copying and pasting it from the scorecard thread. This is how I saw it:

Here is the second fight between Ernie Terrell and Cleveland Williams scored on Philly's 5 point must system.

    Round 1: 5-4 Terrell
    Round 2: 5-4 Williams
    Round 3: 5-4 Williams
    Round 4: 5-4 Terrell
    Round 5: 5-4 Williams
    Round 6: 5-4 Terrell
    Round 7: 5-5 Even
    Round 8: 5-4 Terrell
    Round 9: 5-4 Terrell
    Round 10: 5-4 Williams

    46-45 Terrell

(Actual scores were 46-44 and 46-44 both for Terrell and a 46-44 for Williams. The AP had it 46-45 for Williams. A damn close fight.)

You scored 7 even? I remember that as being a clear Williams round and Chok’s breakdown of it seems to support that.

The Big Ugly Bear refereed their first match in April 1962, in which Williams kayoed Terrell in round 7.

Yeah, the 10th was Terrell's worst round next to the 3rd.

I know my original scorecard was something like 6-4 Terrell, but I think yours closely resembles as to who won which rounds.

Woulda been interesting to see the Big Bear try to pry these two apart during a clinch. For once his power would not have been enough.

Yes it is a very rough tough fight. Two guys really trying to win, they both showed a lot of determination.

Round ten was the only round I had any trouble with. It is not unreasonable to select Williams that round because they landed a similar number of blows. Terrell ran. But in the scheme of it he neutralised and avoided Williams successfully whilst landing a similar number of scoring blows. On even rounds where equal scoring blows have landed a judge can decide the winner on which boxer does the most leading off or better boxing. In this situation Williams did the leading but Terrell all the boxing. Perhaps it could have been even. There was nothing clear about it.

coming out of the ninth round Terrell had beat Williams up. He has the momentum and successfully coasts to the bell in an uneventful 10th round preventing Williams to exchange with him.

    Just watched it.

Good fight. Terrell came out strong the first two rounds he boxed sharply. I scored those for Ernie. Williams won the 3rd big and I thought that should have been scored a knockdown when Terrell hit the canvas but it was ruled a slip. 4th round was slower I call even. 5th and 6th and 7th I gave Williams. 5th was huge. The 6th he cut Terrell. The 7th Cleveland started working his jab on the cut smartly.
Terrell though tired and a bit sloppy dug deep and came back to out hustle Williams in the 8th and 9th rounds. I had it 4-4-1 going into the 10th.

I thought Williams won the 10th. He landed a huge right. Terrell was holding quite a bit by then. They scored against holding back then. As they should.
I had Williams winning a razor thin decision. Q
