The three main reasons for a rematch are an injury to one of the fighters,a controversial decision,or a close competitive fight that could have gone either way. There is also a fourth being the enforced rematch which is popular with Re Matchroom fighters. However getting battered from the first round, being dropped multiple times and then stopped in the ninth round does not qualify for any of the above apart from the enforced rematch which after the first fight is pointless. Let’s see if Spence enforces it !

Shawn Porter is doing his paid job trying to convince the public to buy the fight.

Spence did look a bit slow and his punches were coming out telegraphed & round. If he'd have straightened his punches out more he may have had a bit more success but probably not much. Crawford could see everything coming and was just better, quicker of brain, hand & foot. He is almost always in position to punch and throws effectively from odd angles.

It's pretty obvious that Spence needs to go to 154, he's a very sizeable WW.

I think Shawn Porter is thinking of the pre accident Spence not the current one. People who follow Spence are seeing a fighter in cognitive decline following the car accident....he got hurt bad and has not and will never recover from it completely....his reflexes, balance and ability to defend are really showing his condition....not to mention his pre accident speech was much better now he slurs more. To make it worse dehydrating to make weight then rehydrating is bad practice....dehydration physically shrinks the brain and fluid and rehydration that fast (1 day) is more than likely not enough. His synapsis are slowed.

To put the cherry on top TC is a special top tier predator...a rare talent coupled with fitness discipline. Even at Spences best pre accident the skill level difference was levels above him.

The matchmakers worked magic by matching smoke and mirrors that looked great on paper but watching Spences pre accident fights shows the truth

At 154 Spence does marginally better but basically same result, late TKO/possibly UD for Bud.

That is, if Spence is going to continue, of course. He took a pretty good whupping.

    Crawford retired both of them.
I like to give fighters the benefit of the doubt - same thing was said when AJ lost to Pudding Pop but this is not the same. Spence is not reacting well to punches and his balance is gone.
Why risk long term damage. May be time to call it a day.

Spence needs a tune up fight to see if he's still ok. If he gets another asswhooping like that, could affect his health even more.

Crawford was landing punches in-between the clinch right on the target not just because of his reach but also precision, he was prepared for anything

It's boxing. Anything can happen. Maybe Bud's plane crashes on the way to the weigh in and his head flies off and they staple it back on with some help from some superglue, but he misses weight on the first try and drinks 3 bottles of vodka in the sauna to make weight and then they fight and the ref penalizes Bud for having metal attaching his head to his neck in every round and then the corner removes the staples and Bud's head falls off and rolls over into Al Bernsrtien's lap and seeing as how it happened in the 5th round and the ref rules it was from a punch, it's a legit stoppage...

    Like I said, it's boxing
