I think it's a combination of a few factors

Spence clearly isn't and never was that good and the crash and his lifestyle might also have taken something out of him. But ultimately he was never a P4P top 10 level talent even at his best and Crawford would always stop him.

The fact he was ever ranked top 5 P4P is absurd and even worse many of his fans actually had him ranked P4P#1, based of forging an entire career cleaning out 147 of all its career 140 pounders, 140 pounder featherfists and average punchers at best, only having fought two career 147 pounder world champs in his entire career both of who he struggled badly against, and being hurt a bunch of times even though he barely fought any legit punchers, let alone ones his size.

Good fighter but he's just not a P4P top 10 type of talent. Top 15 would be generous
