So, they have moved Spence from the 9th place to the 5th and Mikey from the 7th (5th?) to the 9th place. I'm good with that.
The fight with Mikey doesn't do anything for Spence's P4P ranking. Ring just positions people based on who can be profitable.
I like Ring's list for the sole reason that small dudes are being recognized (Inoue, Rungvisai, Nietes).
Canelo & Triple G should be higher. The two American welters should be lower. Say what you like about the outcome of the fights between Canelo & GGG, at least they were prepared to face each other. Not once, but twice. The American welters are yet to get to that point & don't deserve the same level of recognition. Don't expect the American boxing media to apply that standard to their own fighters though. They will reward their guys for taking low-risk fights against midget garden gnomes regardless.
Compare Anthony Joshua & Errol Spence. They both went to the same Olympics. One won the gold. The other bombed out in the quarters. As pros, one has unified the IBF, IBO, WBA & WBO titles. The other has won & defended an IBF title. Guess which one the American media wants to put in the top half of a P4P list?
