The guy has a master class jab. In an underrated performance, he completely dominated Mikey Garcia, who was ranked #3 on the p4p list (which is often glossed over), by jabbing his head off.

He has wicked power. He was the only man to KO Bundu, Manriquez, and Ugas. He destroyed Algieri, something Pacquiao, Provodnikov, and Khan couldn't do. Beat the crap out of and stopped the durable Peterson. Broke Kell Brooks eye sockets.

He is a vicious body puncher, one of the best in the sport currently. Spence breaks you down by continuously going downstairs and upstairs with his combinations. Guys look like they're ready to quit gasping for air by the 7tj round. Even if they blocky, he keeps targeting the body to force them to be alert at all times.

He completely outboxed and outclassed Danny Garcia despite coming off a terrible car accident with no time ups. Garcia, a skilled counter puncher, couldn't even make it competitive and took the most one sided beat down he'd ever experienced as a pro.

He outslugged and outfight the relentless Shawn Porter, even knocking him down in an exciting fight of year candidate.

Spence has a hell of a chin and had yet to go down despite consistently facing the best competition. In his last fight with Ugas he was rocked badly, had his mouth piece knocked out, and was hurt by some wicked blows but just smiled, grit his teeth, and stayed in the pocket. He didn't even clinch, he fought back and was making Ugas back up, then turned the situation completely around in the next round hurting him back. This is the same guy whose career was in jeopardy from eye surgery.

He has a wide selection of punches. Along with his excellent jab, he has of course a missile of a left cross, powerful uppercuts with either hand (which is very rare), and hooks. He is a superb combination puncher.

He moves well and can use lateral movement. Spence can also walk you down with economic movement like a mini Joe Louis.

Spence is very well rounded. He can box you at long range, he can break you down on the inside, he can slug it out. He can win rounds and dominate. Spence is just a monster and if he gets past Crawford he will no doubt be one of the best welterweights of all time. I think the only things he lacks are hand speed and defense (and his defense isn't horrible either, just average).

been saying it for 5 years. same people keep doubting him, same people get made fools of each time he fights. so they blow more smoke up their own ass, just to have him make fools of them again. for 5 years ive been saying nobody beats spence at welter. nobody. and that includes crawford.

Boxing fans are the most fickle-when a guy is on a winning streak they overrate, when he losses they underrated.
    Hindsight is always best.

Spence is the best NATURAL welter since ????

I can't even recall, before I started watching boxing.

Pac Floyd and co are not welters and had no business fighting Spence. Floyd obviously didn't and wouldnt. and was lucky he didn't.

My take is that it's the other way around.

Floyd and Pac were rare natural welters, while Spence is only able to make welter by boiling down and help from modern weigh-in rules.
He's more of a natural middleweight if you ask me.

Spence put on a magnificent performance and everybody's focus is on him. Now everyone thinks that he will destroy Crawford but I beg to difer. They got two opponents in common and Crawford looked better against both of them than Spence. Now Spence is relentless but he can be made to box and he can be backed up. Brook proved that. Also, his chin is world class but he can be hurt. Even though it was a free shot, Ugas proved that. If Crawford can't keep Spence honest, then he is in for a hard night which is not in his favor. Then again, if Spence thinks that he can take Crawford's shots all night, he is in for a wake up call. Spence has the size but Crawford is just as strong as he is. Spence is a better inside fighter but Crawford throws better combinations and they all have knockout on them. Spence haven't been taking them kind of combinations from anybody. Whichever fighter can dictate the pace of the fight will probably be the one who wins. My money is on Crawford.

    Wouldn't call him a natural 147 tbh.

He is good. Even when he hasn't looked so good he has found a way to grind it out.

Welterweight is historically deep as hell though.
So many extremely talented individuals who won't be remembered as champions becuase of various reasons.

Top10 H2H of all times, in arguably the historically deepest division with only 7 title fights under his belt, zero win over a prime, elite opponent?

Let’s see him prove to be the best against his peers first, which I don’t think he will.

I picked Spence to stop Brook. I picked him to beat Garcia after the car crash when many people were doubting he'd be the same. I picked him to beat Ugas despite coming off an eye injury.

It's called sticking with your guy, you know, being a fan? Unlike a good 70% of the posters here I don't throw a guy under the bus if the odds don't look good or they lose a match.

I could care less what he weighs outside the ring. At 147 he is a monster h2h, period.
