Spence fought very well on the center line while the shorter Garcia was very unimpressive, did Garcia use the wrong tactics?

I tuned in from round 7 onwards and was expecting to see Spence using his jab more than he was.

Spence also wasn't fighting tall like he normally does. He was dipping down alot to make sure he wouldn't get caught by one of them looping hooks coming in or pulling out.

Yeah that's what I didn't get, he stood in front of Spence most of the fight which is the last thing you want to do.

Look at his lead foot, everyone knows when you fight a southpaw you want your lead foot on the outside of his, that takes you off the line of the jab and the rear hand as you're behind his right shoulder. Garcia should of moved more to his left especially as the right lead hook isn't a punch Spence uses at all, he's all about the right jab and left hand. If he moved to the right he would of found a place for his right hand to the head and body more often.

I'd also want anyone facing Spence to stand more side on to make the body a smaller target the jab to the body he uses just drains you as the fight goes on and if you can take away his body attack he'll be far easier to read as the way Spence changes levels is one of the hardest things to deal with.

That video highlights the lack of use of the left hook and I think that would be a good punch to use vs Spence but you have to get your foot on the outside of his and I'd throw it like Povetkin does. He leans to his left but from that position Povetkin can throw a left hook to head or body or even a right hand, that type of variation of punch from the same position would make it very hard for Spence to know what counter is coming after he jabs, making him more wary to throw it.

Spence is just a better fighter and Garcia’s bad gameplan didn’t help. Garcia consistently threw left hooks over Guerrero’s southpaw jab. Here the plan was to counter Spence’s jab with a right hand. And that was it. No plan B. No variety. The left hook was there for him a few time’s but he was just hell bent on looking for the overhand right. Hell. His best landed punch was probably a right uppercut, but he only threw that once from what I remember. Just a terribly limited offense.

His dad is just a bad trainer. Throw more throw more. He wanted Danny to fight a style he has never fought in his life suddenly. And according to the punchstats, Spence threw 707, Garcia 700.

Danny left his jab at home. Multiple jabs required to win.

Damn, jab is becoming the weapon of choice t'was used by Joyce the other week.

But to me was Garcia shot? He threw less than 8 punches a round. Have to look at the out put but geezuz. I can see why he fails at the elite level every time with that minuscule out put of his.

Spence alwys fires a constant jab, it`s one of the most important punches in boxing, it sets up Spence`s straight lefts very well.

He did for the first half or so, then either his legs got tired or (as he claimed after) he started fooling around.

Yes the hook. Multiple jabs will neutralize Spences jab., sets up the hook and backs Spence up.
