Yep and porter brings pressure but it's uneducated and he smothers his work. Spence doesn't he's smart and has great fundamentals. Imo he's a stylistic nightmare for Thurman. There's a reason why runtime hides under the bed when Spence mentions his name.
I understand what you're saying but Brook gave Spence a hard night for 6-7 rounds and I don't think Brook did anything special, Thurman would do more.
porter def won the fight. Out jabbed him even. Outlanded him and pressed the fight. blackeye for sure.
he is overrated because way too many people see what you see, and what you see is wrong. but remember how you feel about it right now and why, so you can try and figure out where you went wrong when the fight actually happens.
This. Spence has a lot of potential, but his footwork and inside work is sloppy. Spence also leaves him self open too much when firing his body shots. Kell wasn't explosive enough to make Spence pay for it. However, Thurman would hurt Spence badly for making those mistakes. Spence also doesn't seem to pace himself well in fights yet. He should try getting Peterson to get a little more experience before taking the Thurman fight.
Porter did run him close but it was pure pace that did it. A more methodical approach could work but it also favors Thurman in some respects. He's a master at ring generalship and the art at winning rounds, against Brook Spence seemed almost one dimensional. He's ruthless and methodical in attack but if he can't just barge in as he pleases he doesn't seem to have a plan B. Thurman's ambush tactics could trouble him.
Spence beating Thurman doesn't make Thurman overrated. That just means that head to head Spence is better.
hes overrated because so many put them on the same level as a whole when theyre not. its like mikey and linares, fantastic boxer, just not on the level of mikey for various reasons.
At this point, I'll give Thurman the edge. He looks he has devastating power, but against smaller men. Porter took it and handled it well as did Swift. Thurman might go into survival mode and won't let Spence near him. Thurman has the tools to outbox Spence, but can he handle Errols pressure? Might look alot like Forrest-Mosley, tho Mosley was brave af fighting back like a rabid beast in a fight he knew he was losing. Haven't seen that from Thurman yet, but if his power won't save him, he can outbox Spence.
Immediately I said Thurman. Now, giving a little thought, I say Spence may take it. No wait, Thurman. No wait, Spence. Dang it all, 50/50 then.
Thurman is clearly world level. He's beatable but so is Spence. Spence hasn't shown anything for me to put him on the same level as Crawford/Mikey/Loma so it's hard for me to say that Spence is a level above Thurman.
