come on, aside from looking pretty, linares was never much till after he signed to fight loma, relatively speaking.
again, i dont know what your idea of the timeline involved with building interest in fights like these, so i dont know if you think it was just a matter of him calling and everyone stopping their plans giving mikey what hes used to and BAM! fight made?
the timeline makes sense when you consider the players involved, and their particular interests in their individual careers.

 

Everybody knows that what he’s done in the last couple of years is meaningless, it has nothing to do with Loma fans. Mikey is a long running joke at this point.

 

It’s absolutely junk. Are you seriously making the claim that top 10 in paper belt rankings are an appropriate standard for an alleged pound for pound for fighter? That is not a great, good or even okay list of fighters for an alleged pound for pound fighter. More importantly is what he’s done recently, which is absolutely nothing other than talk. There are two Mikey apologists here, and the things they say sound absolutely absurd to anyone who is a fan of the sport. If you’re a fan of the guy that’s fine, but let’s not then claim a fantasy alternative reality where Mikey’s resume is acceptable. To then claim that it’s actually a good resume? Pure hilarity.

Garcia shortens his career by 3-4 fights if he goes near Spence. He has plenty of guys to fight in and around his own division so he has no reason to be calling out Spence.

And I'm not talking about top 10 in paper belt rankings. I am talking about consensus top 10 ranked opponents in their respective divisions. Those were all top 10 ranked guys, not top 10 paper guys. You should know that, haha.

I call it how it is. Definitely been called a Mikey hater for literally 5 years, and I was and still sort of am, but I guess now I'm a fanboy because I said something you don't like. Cool story. Lets keep it going. Shall we list the top dozen victories of all the guys you currently think have accomplished so much more than him? I would love that.

 

Again, the Linares fight was on the table. GBP made a deal. They were the two best available lightweights. What more do you ****ing need?
Loma was also there for a moment but i am not calling it a duck. Loma got injured and Mikey fought Easter.

Besides that, i never claimed that the other fights were available. But Mikey himself talked this big game while fighting Broner, Easter and Lipinets.

The list of fighters Mikey has called out is ridiculous. It's his own fault for talking so much.
