Just confirmed officially by Gilberto Mendoza from ringside tonight in Tampa. Ugás' mandatory challenger Eimantas Stanionis has accepted step-aside pay.

Welterweight unification. WBC and IBF (second and sixth defenses respectively of Spence) and WBA super (1st defense of Ugás) world titles on the line.

Nice comback fight IMO, a champion who earned a belt (after he received it, but whatever) but one of the softest in a while.

Course it's been confirmed. No surprises there. How are the LDBC going to spin this one then? He wanted Crawford they said. But no, Haymon has lobbied the WBA to escape the corner they found themselves in.

Running scared of Terence 'Bud' Crawford, who didn't even look that impressive against Porter.

I want to see how Champside and Blue Blood and all the rest of the loser media spin this in Errol's favour.

Anyways, I think Spence decision. 7-5, close fight. Bit of ring rust from Spence but gets the job done. And then announces he's moving up to 154 afterwards. Cause PBC clearly aren't interested in Crawford.

I kind of don't care. But, I hate watching Ugas with a burning passion, so.... War Spence. Hopefully he knocks this horrid spoilerific overachiever unconscious.

People say that they want biggest fights available in the division, but won't pressure Spence to fight Crawford.

    Avoid Bud at all coasts.

He will move up after that and say that there are bigger challenges at 154

    :nonono politics are predictable.

Let's just ignore this whole WBA mini tournament and pay step aside money to Ugas opponent so PBC can milk another belt while avoiding Crawford.

I think Spence fighting Ugas is to set up the Crawford fight right after.

It's a decent fight and Spence does fight quality opposition so I'm not really complaining. I'm just frustrated and losing faith in this fight happening.

Crawford leaving Arum was the first step in making this fight happen. Now with spence and ugas on the horizon, we may get to see that fight for undisputed next year which makes that fight that much bigger.

There are two steps to make the fight. Crawford leaves Top Rank. The second is a successful negotiation between Crawford and Spence.

Tell me how doing a deal with Ugas is the same thing as doing a deal with Crawford. Spence said he doesn't want a tune-up.

This is ducking. They've lobbied the WBA and essentially begged them to allow this fight. It's shameful.

Crawford left top rank. Oh my goodness..we can now make the fight between Spence and Crawford immediately. But you know what, let's do a backroom deal with the WBA to avoid him instead!
