It's been 5 months since his big win over Brook. No fight scheduled. I mean, cmon Al, have him fight a mandatory and get it out of the way. Spence is too young to be fighting twice a year. His fight before Brook was Bundu in August of 2016!! That's 2 fights in 14 months. Spence needs to join Top Rank, Hearn, or golden boy.
A lot of these American fighters are too inactive and are not promoted properly. Spence Jr has a lot of appeal and potential to be a star.
Give Brook the Rematch, Brook has 2 steel plates for eye sockets now. Funny to think Brook would have beat GGG and Spence with fully functioning eye sockets.
Brook may actually get a fight before Spence. Errol Spence is being horribly mismanaged for a guy of his talent. He needs to be far more active and actually promoted. Nobody knows who the guy is. He has absolutely no profile, none.
5 months is nothing when it comes to Haymon "advised" fighters. Activity is also a dirty word in the Mayweather (TMT) stable.
So Spence isn't signed with any promoter but his adviser is Al Haymon? Yeah that's not exactly a winning combo. He needs to sign with Top Rank or Hearn.
During the Golden Boy lawsuit, Haymon admitted to the court he was a "manager" to avoid being called a promoter. We can call him a manager now. He promises better returns to his fighters because they cut out the promoter, who usually gets up to a third of a fighter's purse. But without a promoter his fighters aren't promoted properly. Which is why they sit around so much. And Haymon himself has so many enemies.
All the Momentum has gone from that great win I mean what the hell is haymon doing with these fighter all there prime is passing them by look at a fighter like Porter all he wants is a big fights no tune ups but he can't get a big fight
Sad, but a lot of these young american stars have no real fan base. They don't get a whole country behind them like the european or mexican stars do. Spence is a great young fighter but nobody in the states even knows who he is outside of hardcore boxing fans. At least Crawford has Omaha where he can sell tickets. A lot of these guys don't even become stars in their hometown. I'm from Philadelphia and they used to build fighters up here until they wee attractions, but there is no big time boxing here anymore so these guys pretty much have to leave town to try to make it.
