Errol spence vs miguel cotto

Cotto close but clear UD.

 

Cotto made a close fight with a larger, physically mature Canelo. I don't what Spence offers that Canelo isn't very capable of himself. I'm not sure Spence could impose his strength and pressure on Cotto like he could with his past opponents.

Not sure who I'd pick when it came down to it but Cotto could easily pull off an upset here.

 

For sure,injury aside what he did against Brook was mighty impressive and I said at the time and now that both those guys deserve big respect for that fight,Brook for staying at the weight and not ducking the divisions bogeyman and Spence for coming into Brooks backyard,losing to Spence is nothing to be ashamed about.

 

Yes I agree cause even though Spence been operating at welterweight he just looks a natural middleweight to me,to big,too strong,I reckon Spence would lose the early rounds kinda like how Austin Trout and Hurd went and then Spence would just impose his will and athleticism on Cotto.

Margarito was already past prime. He was actually already on the downslope of his career by the time he fought Cotto. Remember Margarito was 31 years old against Mosley. A pro for 16 years, literally more than half of his life. 16 years as a pressure fighter who took an obscene amount of punishment and tended to block punches with his face en route to simply wearing down his opponent with sheer stamina and pressure.

 

Cotto is a very "cute" fighter. Huge bag of tricks, flashy technical skills. But not the most hardened fighter mentally or physically. Spence could possibly overwhelm him.

 

I think the hand wraps was exaggerated with him. I'm sure after the dust settled it was revealed that it was second hand gauze being used instead of fresh gauze ! Although unprofessional, its far from dipping his hands in plaster paris

for one, Canelo doesn't offer anywhere near the workrate and constant pressure of Spence.

How is it mad? Spence is a welterweight. Cotto is an old guy he'd destroy and get no credit for. Also he would have to sign with goldenboy for this fight, Spence like Garcia want to be free agents. Not to mention goldenboy's racist emails, do you really think Spence would be a priority for them?
