Good looking out Boran. Know of any good gyms outside of Bangkok? i always felt BKK not only is a bit more expensive but more distractions as well.
I kind of know what you mean about distractions in BKK, but if you are on the edge of BKK it's pretty quiet, cheap and u rarely need to go into the city. Suwanchart on Sukhumvit 107 could be a good start if it still exists. I've trained there and it was a very good gym. It's almost out of BKK near Samlong where there used to ba a now closed boxing stadium. There are many many many, in the provinces but I've got to be honest none that I could personally recommend. I'd guess that Kiatphontip still has it's original gym in Phattalung in the South, but not sure. (I'm a little out of touch these days). I think outside of BKK stay away from the big tourist areas like Koh Samui, Phuket, Chang Mai and Pattaya (talk about distractions :thedevil1) if you want something rural and rugged, but make sure you get your jabs if you want to go jungly with your training. In any area you will always find a gym and dont be shy to approach them, however they may stuggle to match you well in a rural area if you want to fight.
He's ****ing incredible Why have I been researching my book all this time when Boranbkk has been alive in this World?!?!
Seems an obvious one but have we done Coban Lookchaomaesaitong yet? Was rooting around Youtube and found this Tribute by a Brazilian guy, not you was it Vic? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7gline-QnA&feature=player_embedded[/ame] One of my personal favs, the Thai with fists of stone and a chin of granite. I was lucky enough to meet him in 2001 an the afternoon before the King's B-Day fights that year, he wasn't fighting, but he was a top bloke. Funny, not long after that I met his arch rival Dekkers in BKK, maybe they were planning another rematch.
If I remember correctly someone mentioned him before.....not sure :think And no, the video is not mine...
Great hl. Damn Coban could really punch! by the way Found this on the web has some records a little info : http://www.muaythaidesign.com/_fighters/cobanlookchaomaesaitong.php dont think its been posted yet.
I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has posted in this thread! I am starting Muay thai in the next few weeks(Done ligaments in finger so cant start straight away) and wanted to start learning the history of it so this thread has been great.
Yeah TNT for fists and an insane preference to throw them no matter what's coming at him. That's why the fights with Dekkers wre so anticipated and interesting, similar guys. Kind of like a brutal caveman version of Kongtoranee without the smarts and the subtle art of having a fight plan before you get in the ring! Welcome and good luck with the training. :hi: That is so freaky, when I first started posting I used the exact same avatar, you are clearly a man of the finest taste.
Good luck mate! The making of the legend that is Flea Man Noi has begun! No seriously good luck and train hard. Remember, it's all in the hips, relax em and let em go!:bbb That's what I call an ATG.:yep
