Is he still going considering his recent signing to Epic MMA in HK? :think

 

Hopefully not. I have no interest in seeing Buakaw in MMA. Watching someone of his striking ability being nullified by constant takedowns would be frustrating to say the least. If he can continue his Muaythai/kickboxing career than thats what he should do.

Though Buakaw might have some decent takedown defence...

 

Buakaw's coming back to MT from the latest news. Apparently Thailand is worried about MMA taking a foothold in Thailand so they sorted out the legal stuff and now Buakaw is cleared to fight MT again.

 

one of the best in this generation in a very competitive weightclass, yes Singdam is a ATG. this year he's beaten Saketdao, Nong O, Wanchalerm, and now Watcharachai.

Singdams fought most recently against Watcharachai a late replacement for nong o.

Well Thai's own Leicester City and want to expose Thailand to the UK by showcasing Muay Thai for free.

in order for Buakaw to fight again he must fulfil his new contract with Por Pramuk gym. I read that the terms of Buakaw's 5 year contract with Por Pramuk are:

• Buakaw must keep the Por Pramuk name

• Buakaw splits his fight purse 60/40 money he gets from seminars and the like 75/25

• Buakaw has control over who he fights (doesn't need permission from his Por Pramuk camp)

• Buakaw will not train at Por Pramuk

A bit of a misuderstanding in the west. Thais have absolutely zero interest in MMA and have no fear of it's lack of competition to MT. This is more about snobbery and national pride than any real fear of MMA. Thais see MT as a national nad cutural gem of extreme beauty that is an important gift to the world. They see MMA as foriegn thuggery with no real asthetic value. It's more the link to MMA they fear, they are trying to distnce themselves from it's barbaric image. They have had alot of "unsavoury" incidents in the news over the last few years concerning foriegn MMA fighters that have either murdered people or been in hidious bar beatings. As i said before thsi is all about detached politicains that seem themselves as sophisticated trying to distance the country form MMA, snobbery. :bart Anyway, MMA being popular would only suit Thai promrotors and the well oiled Thai fight machine, definetly not forigners.

Good card with 4 solid Thai names and some very very weird connections going on! Saiyok, a mulit stadium champ and top flight fighter, banned form the sport at his peak for taking a dive and losing his Raja title to ....... yep you guessed it Singmanee, fighting out of Sor Srisompong at the time. This was a massive media story in Thailand. Saiyok then spent some time in the wilderness before getting pulled back into the fold by one of Lumpini's promoting army generals, Pumphanmuang (Lumpini iis run and owned by the army). He's gone on to kick some serious ass to gain the Lumpini belt amoung others.

The other connection Singmanee and Sudsakorn fought each other very recently on the undercard of Buakaw's destruction of that Russian guy on the last Thai fight bill. It was abit technical but intersting despite he fact the 3 round foramt didn't suit them. Both Singmanee and Sudsakorn between them have won stadium belts, world belts nad big tournies like Isuze cup and S1, so it's safe to say the're a couple of vetran Thai warriors. All four Thais having passed their "hey days" of to travel the world in search of soft farang and hard cash!

All I meant Yaca is that Buakaw is technically retired nad since the announcement for the UK show he's signed to that HK MMA set up, so will he show up?

But now I know its the guy from Kingpower doing the promotion Buakaw will definetly turn up. He is a massive tycoon in Thailand owning all the duty free set ups nad alot more. I imagine an offer Buakaw can't refuse would be made.
