I like the idea, plus it would help posters like me learn a lot more about our past, great fighters.

Sweet. Seen as i've been reading up like a ***** lately, i'm well game.

Start with the heavies on Monday?

Hopefully make the esb front page with our collective final listings as well.

Theres no other large group of people in the UK taht has such a widespread view on UK boxing in my opinion.

Class Bob Fitzsimmons as a Brit.

I suggest the fighters can only be rated in the division in which they are ranked by Boxrec......

Despite how some people act on here, each and every one of us has very little knowledge compared to what is actually out there to learn.

I'll be the first to admit my domestic knowledge is nowhere close to my world boxing knowledge.

Nah, I say we should rate them based on what they did in the division. So, for example Eubank would be classed in both the middleweight and super-middle division.

I wouldnt agree with the boxrec placings, some are random. Look at the classic, we'll go by what they did at that weight compared to others in same category, hence fighters like Benn can easily be ranked highly at MW and SMW.

Unlike the classic, we wont stick to the traditional divisions.

I look forward to the lightweight category, should be interesting.

Will we even do SMW though or only the original 8 divisions?

edit: Don't matter, jus seen Smith's post above.

    Absolutely.

What I was pondering is whether to include republic of ireland fighters as well, i.e. UK and Ireland(s) rankings. Think that would work too.

    Great idea!!

How about we do the 8 'cardinal weights' first and fill in the gaps afterwards if the interest is there?

As Kos says simply rank fighters if they fought in (and by what they did in) a division rather make the call ourselves over what division to rank them in. So for instance Fitz would be eligible for ranking at HW, middleweight and Light heavyweight.
