    Sounds sensible.

I really do think we're gonna be stretching at times, but it is what it is.

    You ****er Ishy...:p;)

    Amended:

    1) To qualify for ranking a fighter must have been born in the UK or Eire or have fought for a British/ Irish title.

(I wouldn't like to just put 'eligible to fight for a Brit/ Irish title' because that opens a real can of worms in itself.)

    So..............

    1) To qualify for ranking a fighter must have been born in the UK or Eire or have fought for a British/ Irish title.

    2) A boxer will only be considered for ranking in divisions in which he actually fought.

    3) A boxer may be eligible for ranking in more than one division but will not be given any credit for wins outside the specific division being ranked.

We'll do Heavy, Lt Heavy, Middle etc down to Fly first and then go back up to Cruiser and fill in the gaps?

McAuley and McGuigan being from Northern Ireland get in, Collins being from the Republic does not. Although prior to 1922 it could be argued all fighters from the Island of Ireland should count.

do you think Wilde has done enough at Bantam weight. He took a hell of a battering when he stepped up to wiorld class at Bantam.

Really you think SMW is the strongest?

id argue that Flyweight is the strongest with Lynch, Wilde, Kane, Paterson, Caldwell, Monaghan and all them

I'll tell you that when we do the Bantams but he did fight at the weight so he should be eligible for ranking...;)

Its a tricky one, but something we'll work out when the rules get set in stone.

I think we should count Irish fighters personally.

The trouble with that, is that it may introduce a bit more national bias.

I mean it's already going to be hard enough keeping Alex Arthur out the no1 spot. :blurp

    Hey.

I agree with everything GazOC says, we'll stick to that.

I think its safe to say the Irish will be included, will add a bit of meat to our lists, but on the grounds Gaz said, i.e. no 'irish' micky ward ;)

I'll get the first thread up tomorow for the heavies. Ideally there wont just be people posting up lists straight away but a bit of debate over the guys we may or may not include.

    Should be fun.
