Golata for throwing away twice the chance to beat bowe, and then every time i bigged him uo to win, against lewis, tyson and brewster he let me down by completly losing the plot. Scott harrison for being a right nasty guy, drinking with his mates, fighting in bars and pubs all over the place, when he could have been a top fighter. Naz Hamed for being a complete c**t,when if he had been humble and honest,he could have got most of the fight fans in the uk behind him, when instead of that every body including me laughed and cheered when Barrera beat him up,sad really to see him now,a seeminly (rich)sad bitter little man.
I don't see why. If Kimbo Slice beat Mercer in a boxing match it would be a different story. But even then I would contribute it more to Ray's age then any exceptional ability on Kimbo's part.
I've just been reminded that the Berbick-Holmes parking lot fight was due to Berbick's paranoid and bizarre accusations that Holmes was somehow involved in turning his (Berbick's) wife against him. Coming from a guy who often "heard voices" and told everyone his loss to Tyson was due to Don King pumping poison gas into his hotel room, I'm betting Holmes never even met Berbick's wife.
Of course. And winning is what matters I suppose. But, in football, Brazil and Germany always won- but we all rate Brazil as the better team. Why? Because defensive strategy is always easier than attacking strategy. :good
Trevor Berbick may deserve a mention in this category. Tyson's already been mentioned, but, it's worth repeating.
The German were marvellous in the last World Cup, a credit to the competition...for a change. Re: 1966. We only won because we had home advantage...just like in 1974 when Holland were the better team. Home advantage is BIG...in every sport.
