Juan Diaz really achieved a lot by getting his degree and boxing at the same times, I'll get mine a year from now and it takes a lot of work to get even to the point I'm at, much less what Juan's done.

Juan Diaz is a great story. The guy is something else to be able to be one of the best in the sport and still finish school is to be commended. He might actually be the first for the caliber fighter he is. I'll always be a Juan Diaz fan and I wish him success in his life after boxing.

Congrats to Juan, some day he will make a good lawyer or even a judge. He is well loved here in Houston by everyone. If only you guys knew the place where these kids i.e. Juan and Rocky grew up in, you will as proud of them as I am today. They are a fine example of what a role model should be to today's generations. If you drive down Rocky's run down hood you will see the biggest and newest house belongs to his parents, he wanted to build them a mansion in his old hood and he did. They didnt want to leave the hood....

Not too uncommon for a top athlete to be a scholar also. I guess we just don't see it as much in boxing because there are no scholarships handed out so it is a tough road to travel. Still, to become a champion boxer is incredible because the school isn't giving him the breaks the scholarship athletes are getting.

Now, if he takes some time off to devote full time to boxing before law school? Just think..... WOW!

Amazing, becoming a world champion boxer with 7 title defenses before he graduates college. I can only imagine if he fully committed to his boxing carrer. There is a good chance he might have beaten Campbell.

Also this guy was in the middle of his final semister while training for JMM. How can you not respect this guy?
