favourite players are maia, saulo and bj penn . but am particularly inspired by maia and rickson. im a two stripe purple belt (rather undeserved i feel) my lineage is from royler gracie but recently switched to gracie barra after our instructor left. biggest names ive trained with are probably royler and bruno alves.
Sounds like what we call the sneaky **** choke, one of my favourites. I've been training bjj for a little over 6 years now, I'm a blue belt (I'd most likely be a purple under almost any other coach, but my coach has exceptionally high standards, which I quite like). I haven't trained that much over the last 6-8 months due to time/money/injury type issues, but I would like to get my purple belt before I turn 30. Posting from my phone so I'll post more when I get home tonight.
That is a much better name for it. Anyway watch this guys... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mJT_PgVgPY&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/ame] Lynchburg
Man I love Jiu Jitsu probably just as much as any other sport. I'm a blue under Marcos Nardini. I don't get to train very often like 1x per week because of Uni. My favorite BJJ fighters are Rafa/Gui Mendes and Marcelo. Roger and Rodolfo are good to watch also if just to see the inevitability of the ass whooping.
Well done Lynchy! Been more stand up lately due to injury. My fave is knee grinds to a pinned leg to get bottom fighters to turn and open for a quick move to a traditional or modified scarf choke. Great for gi but hard when slippery in no gi.
We are doing a lot of guard work at the moment. Knee inside then over and stretch the guy on bottom out... Very uncomfortable on bottom. Where is Anarchy? Dude is a purple belt I think... I'm sure he has something cool to share with us. Lynchburg
Iv recently started training under Steve Campbell (great trainer) been training about 2 years on and off due to trying to find the right gym, love watching maia, Pablo popovitch and the Medez bros not really trained with any1 well known but dave minto from are gym just won the euro masters in Lisbon at blue belt! Top thread linch!
I'll be starting in the next few weeks. The instructor is a purple belt, but he gets Victor Estima in a fair bit and it's more of an MMA school. Should be fun. There is another guy in town who's a black belt under Roger Gracie. But I still don't know if I'll enjoy training yet, so looking forward to just rolling and seeing how I get on. Would like to do judo but the school is miles away.
I see Pablo has just signed with Tatami Fightwear! that is a great signing from them! The brand will only get better with guys like that! Also Roger has dropped down to middleweight for MMA and is training with Black House now for his fights :deal Lynchburg
here is my instructor one of if not the best in the country he lost to the best Irish BJJ guy in a match but only went to the place to make friends and was roped into the match, he was in no condition to be fighting, the irish guy wont rematch him now here he is in the irish open, santos in blue [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvxKME2XhyE[/ame]
Yesterday I had the honour of trining with Lucas Leite... It was really good for me as half guard is the position I work from all the time and when I pull guard I try to go straight for half guard... it's a little risky but if it's good enough for a many times World Champion then it's good enough for me :deal He is amazing good and a really nice chap too! Anyway... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTlO7SW6cyo&feature=related[/ame] Lynchburg
