Did you think we only had Adamek? http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Pawel+Wolak&search_type=&aq=f Been watching him for a couple of years now and he is finally getting his TV shot. Wolak moved to the US at like 14-15 fights out of Jersey trains out of Gleason's in Brooklyn.A 154lb version of Juan Diaz!Speaks perfect English and Polish.Already seels out samll venues on the East Coast with a large Polish following.
(((((((bbb THE NEW RAGING BULL:bbb ))))))))) I can't see him getting stopped. He's the stopper...not the stoppe.:yep Agian, who is Ishe Smith? I'll go check out his past opponents on Boxrec. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPlhRXJQL6g (FF to 3:20 seconds for the brutal finish) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiTpwvHbWSQ (interview with the Bull)
I'm surprised you've heard of Wolak but not Smith. I thought Wolak was more of an undercard commodity in the east coast areas. Anyways, I've seen him fight a few times. Didn't impress that much but he thoroughly dominated his overmatched opponents, so this is a huge jump in class for Pawel.
Spot on analysis. He isnt a gifted Boxer who is going to display any type of great talent in the ring but i think his style suits him very well and he does dominate and maul his opponents to the point where they give in.He is a pure in your face pressure fighter with a high workrate and OK pop. Win or lose i think he will provide for some very exciting fights. With his personality and already built in East Coast fan base if he continues to win he can be marketed well and do good for himself in this sport.
Good fight wolak isn't that well known so this might be his coming out party. Smith has only lost to the best at 154 so this should awnswer a lot of questions about pawel. I'll take a wolak ud but there have been a lot of upsets this year so.....
Smith is good, but always seems to be hesitant to actually throw punches. He's just way too tentative. If Wolek is a forward-moving high workrate fighter like someone said above, then it's the kind of fight Wolek might be able to win solely on styles and not because he's actually the better fighter.
Kind of a contradiction there. And this may be the case in the future though how do we decide that?He clearly isnt the most talented yet is effective and produces W's so far.His game isnt as pretty but results are what matter.
I'm anxious to see how Wolak turns out. He's been fed the typical journey men and done well. Ishe presents someone with good movement and a sturdy chin, luckily he lacks a killer instinct and punch. Though, Ishe's running out of chances, maybe he'll turn it up finally for this fight. What kinda defense does Wolak present?
