I disagree, Dawson made weight, looked great at the weigh in, looked fine for the first two rounds...then was systematically broken down and beaten by a better fighter. You can cling to the weight as some sort of excuse but the bottom line is two guys got in the ring, and the better of those two guys demonstrated his superior talent, period. The "weight drained" sour grapes argument is weak as ****, Chad (who I like and who I bet on) got his ass handed to him.

I agree man. Ward would win at 175 too though. He is a massive talent.

168 & 175 are two different fights...make no mistake...weight was the overall factor...sorry but it was

So weight made Dawson as pensive as usual and prone to napping while he figures out what to do?

    Agree with you!

Ward was able to floor Dawson 2 times and we all know even if Ward have all the skills in the world he's not the more powerful puncher out there. At 175lbs Dawson could take Pascal, Jonson, Tarver, Adamek and Diaconu punches!

Oscar weighed 145 and only rehydrated to 147.
He was clearly dead on the scales.

Dawson weighed in 168 and ended up weighing the exact same weight he always fights at on fight night. In the mid 180's

Eric Harding also knocked him down, a guy with 7 KO wins in 28 fights. Was Dawson drained then?

Archie Moore losing to Ali? Didn't count too old.
Frazier beats Ali? Didn't count Ali just came back.
Hamed loses to MAB? Didn't count MAB too technical.
Corrales loses to Mayweather? Didn't count weight drained.
Lacy loses to Calzaghe? Didn't count traveled halfway around the world.
Lewis loses to Rahman? Didn't count out of shape.

Not Ward's fault that Chad said he could make 168 easily, 100% props to Ward

Dawson was drained clearly no doubt about it, the first two knock downs were basically Push downs but his legs were not there from the get. Keep in mind the WBC has a rule now in which you can put on more than 15 pounds of what you weighed in and I think that also hurt Chad

I don't think anyone can criticise ward for taking the fight but by the same token, little credit can be given for beating Sad Chad, even if it was convincingly.

Looks don't mean ****. You can look as good as you want in a pair of briefs, but it won't mean you'll be guaranteed to perform at 100 percent. Same thing with "making weight". Oscar made weight, too.

The weight is not an excuse for Ward being the better man and winning. I've always said Ward is the better fighter, and at 168 or 175, he would come out victorious.

But if anyone can seriously tell me Dawson would have been hurt repeatedly and put on his ass three times up at 175 by Ward, has something seriously wrong with them. **** me, if some assholes can taint a Pacquiao's win over Cotto by a measly 2 ****ing pounds, they can certainly do it for 7 (a whole weight division where Dawson hadn't been in in years).
