Why were people rating a prime RJJ so highly? After all, he was mostly just knocking out bums. It was because of the way he was beating them/ knocking them out.

Same kind of thing goes for Bute.

If Bute isn't proven, then name me the fighters he would have to beat to become proven and I will tell you that in that case, he wouldn't only be proven, but he'd also be one of the very best in the world.

Bute has faced someone as good as Froch in Andrade.

And if Bute isn't proven now, neither was Pascal before Dawson. And quite a few would say he got lucky the fight ended there and then on a headbut.

Where did I say Bute would KO Pascal easy? I think it would be a very hard fight for Bute, a fight he may well lose. However, I also think that because Pascal is so brave and aggressive, Bute would be forced to respond in kind, forcing a T/KO. I think that is the more likely outcome.

I don't mind and I understand the logic. But if they tought it would be soooo easy to beat Pascal, don't you think they would make the jump lnow?

God, Pascal is WBC, IBO (whaterver) and RING champion. Bute would rather stay at 168 and keep his precious IBF title and fight Brinkley? So he can get a fight with the winner of the S6. As if they would not like to fight Bute in 1-2 years if Bute was then WBC-IBO (whatever), IBF (Cloud) and RING champion then, fighting regularly on HBO.

-Pascal has a bit more hand speed.
-Pascal moves a little better in the ring.
-Pascal has more raw power than Bute.
    -Pascal fights better off angles.
-Pascal has a wicked left hook upstairs.
-Pascal has a more proven chin.

-Bute on the other hand, has better accuracy.
-Bute has a better variety of punches to work with in fights.
-Bute is a better counter puncher and has much better timing.
-Bute is better at finding his reach and imposing the distance in a fight.
-Bute can adapt better in the ring also.
-Bute has a top notch left to the body.

Not necessarily talking about you. But tko 8 for Bute is about as much realistic as saying Pascal tko 8. IMHO, neither Bute nor Pascal could ko the other.

I know what you mean man but I think they're serious in trying to become the best at 168lbs and they want to finish their business there first.

It has more to do with them being careful with Bute's fighting weight. They're afraid he won't be able to come back down properly after going up, even if it's just 7 lbs.... Ask Pascal if he could make 168lbs healthy now. Not a chance, even if it's only a 7 pound difference...

Pascal in the 175lbs was a good move, he was not able to compete with Bute at 168, can't beat Froch at 168lbs. And now he's in the 175lbs good win vs Diaconu and Dawson and grandpa Branco, and now its Bute fault to not take the fight at higher weight....:rofl:rofl:rofl

This is getting better and better.

Everyone just needs a little patience, it's only a matter of time anyways for Bute-Pascal.:good

I'd actually like Pascal to pursue a unification fight with Cloud before giving Dawson a rematch. I want him to unify and lift all doubts of him being the top dog at 175lbs.

I disagree. Pascal was open to the kind of bodyshots that Bute is very good at delivering many times during the Dawson fight.

You're not better if you carry on like this either, if I may say so.

Pascal is a very good fighter. Bute is a very good fighter. They are both improving too. It won't be an easy fight for either. And neither Bute nor Pacal are A- level fighters yet. At their best, they're B+. That's it.

You are right. Bute should drop the IBF because Brinkley is a **** fight. He should fight Pascal at 175lbs. But if this fight isn't happening now, it's not because Bute or his team are afraid of the risk/reward that comes with taking on Pascal. I think Bute thinks he would beat Pascal and so does his team.

I am also slightly confused/ alarmed by Bute's career options recently.
