ESB OFFICIAL POLL: Jean Pascal vs Lucian Bute!

Pretty even matchups Pascal will definitely tell us if Bute is the real deal. Tough one to call im leaning towards Bute but i wouldnt put money on it.

Bute has the killer instinct Dawson lacks and more power to counter Pascal. But it will still be a very hard fight against a game Pascal. And my heart will be torn between the two boxers.

People have underated Pascal for years he beats a recognized P4P top 10 yank and some people still belittle him.

Wow. Just plain wow. I am in shock. Some people will hate simply for the purpose of hating I see.

You're going to far. Bute has faced worthy opponents. Not top opponents, but very worthy top 10 opponents. Be aware, you're starting to write like a nuthugger.

I don't see Pascal's roughness being a problem for Bute. As I said before, Bute have faced tougher opponents. I think that Pascal's speed and flurries can cause some poblems to Bute though. Pascal-Bute would be a competitive fight. They both are very serious boxers, are excellent athletes, their respective teams are more than solid. They both have a big heart, are intelligent in the ring, fast, near or in their prime. I want this fight now! Not when they will be 38!

You think that Pascal is bad for Bute, stylewise. I think the opposite. If you look at Pascal's fights, his style is pretty clear. He likes to win the beginnings and the endings of the rounds. Against a boxer with a longer reach (always everybody now), he stays very far on the outside and comes in to make damage.

Why does he box like that? Because he's smaller, of course. Because his stamina is not and won't ever be excellent. Pascal has too much muscles on him, that burns a lot of energy. That's why he's not able to fight complete rounds and that's why he fades at the end of his fights. Against Froch, that cost him the win. Diaconu had himself bigger stamina problems than Pascal, Branco was 40, Dawson has not a great stamina neither. If I was Larouche, I would tell Bute to make Pascal fight 3 minutes each round. After round 7, Pascal's tank would be empty.

You say that Bute is cautious and doesn't like when he gets roughed. I think you are talking of an old version of Bute, and even in that old version, it was more that Bute likes to analyze his opponent and take his measures.

My prediction: Bute by KO, and it's not because I hate Jean Pascal. It's just my way of analyzing a fight between the two of them. Your way is an easy win for Pascal. If we're lucky, we'll know one day who's right.

 

Hopefully this is just a ploy.

 

i just saw a post off a guy saying that people are overrating pascal now.

first off, most are voting for bute (i voted pascal)

secondly, i dont know about you guys, but pascals victory over dawson is better than any win on butes resume in my books.

I was talking about Bute's opponents toughness. I was not talking about their value compared to Pascal.
