A person who studies submissions and has done for several years? interesting that mate!

Does that mean you practice Jui Jitsu? :yep

I used to study jiujitsu amongst other things. It was a once in a lifetime type submission like a can opener in that it's something people don't normally get caught in unless they never trained. True technique is something that can be repeated in controlled circumstances. It's like if I hung a ten year old upside down and banged his head on the ground then he tapped out would that be a real submission? **** no. It was only possible because I was so much larger and stronger.

What the **** do you know? :bbb

Easy, easy...I know he has a loser avatar, but let's not get out of hand. He is one of our very own real fighters on esb.

I don't know. But you know what's funny? I have a friend, and English is his 2nd language. He sent me a text telling me not to get my "pennies in a wuad."

    Thats me brother :good

Sadly it seems my fighting days may have ended before they really begun as professionally things are really picking up for me.

Sugar, JJ isnt really my thing, I just like a tear up, but clearly I do practice it, I dont really remember "giving you ****" just merely pointing out that studying submissions over a period of years is an interesting thing to do without actually practising the art :huh :D

Right on. My apologies for being an asshat to you. I'm bad about that. I was never a cage fighter because I am an artist, writer and filmmaker by trade. I only trained jiujitsu as a martial artist with my focus being on self defense rather than ever getting into the cage.

I competed in whatever jiujitsu, grappling tournaments and even boxing tough man competitions along the way just to test myself but that's it. You have to overlook my poor wording. I've been up all day working on scripts and drinking early and come to this forum to talk MMA with my buddies and just throw random info around without always weighing the phrasing.

So yes, I practiced the art and even got my blue belt from Relson Gracie. But that's as far as I went there mainly due to time constraints and injuries. I was getting to the point where I was starting to get surgeries and it just wasn't worth it.

My hat is off to anyone that gets in the cage. So cheers to you. Sorry to hear your fighting days may be over already. I hope that is not the case.

Me too man! I hope to fight next year, for now I'm competing in Triathlons in between work to fill the void, but its dog ****!

Gracie Blue Belt :good My club was just affiliated with Gracie Barra, before that Dean Lister. I hate JJ, its a necessary evil for me. :-(

Anyway, Phil Davis can grapple you ****er :D

Just noticed; artist, writer and film maker :good :good :good I often wonder about what some posters do for a living, I cant say you have ever been one of them but I'm glad I know this information.
