Is this a h2h thingy? If not, how on earth does Abraham get any votes? The guy beat Jermain Taylor and noone else. Froch has Taylor + so even he (who i have 3rd) should be rated above Abraham as he has other wins aswell. I don't see any logic in that. Guess you checked boxrec and saw he was #1. It really makes no sense to have him 1st, unless it is a h2h ranking.

Abraham shouldn't be on this list yet, if I'm correct in assuming it's being judged by accomplishments at the weight.

for me, ward is the champ, Froch second, bute third. However, I would accept it is Froch was considered the champ. Include ability and CV, I'd go: Ward..... Froch, Bute, Abraham.

Sod the super six, shouldn't we just have a box-off of these four unbeaten warriors?

    Ward would win it, mind.

Except the fact that i would have Bute higher, i agree with this. I actually have Abraham #5, with Kessler still above him.

he is the most proven SMW out there. like it or not. for all you know the great american dream Andre Ward could lose his next 2 fights and become the next Lacy.

So lets just look at what these guys have done, not what you think they will do.

I laugh everytime I see Ward on a top ten P4P list. He has so much to prove for me but the Americans are falling over themselves to hype him up.

Beating Kessler was impressive but there are some doubts over headbutts, for me Ward will not be tested in his next 2 fights as Dirrell and Green are the worst Super 6 fights by a long way.

That's fair, but he needs to win the fights before he can be ranked #1. You can't rank based on assumptions and predictions. No point in actually fighting then.

    That's true.

So i guess it all depends on how you define this question.

But i think h2h, he loses to AA, Ward, Kessler and Bute.

Yes, clearly he does. I do not see him in top 3, but should be voted #1.

    That's fair n all.

Though I reckon Froch is going to stop Kessler.

Ward will, sadly, humiliate Froch, Bute will until Froch hurts him (and good but significant chance he halts him), and AA's defence just too good.

but, at this moment, Froch has a wonderful recent record (reid aside - even froch, a far more modest fighter than he's given credit for acknowledged) and deserves credit.

Bute has done the most longest champ of them and most defenses most inside the distance he suffers because he is not i nthe super 6. These guys fight eachother and take his fame while he is left with the **** competition in the divison. Miranada should never have a title shot but due to the 6 he can cause no one is left. Bute beats everybody in the super 6.

Ward has one win that was very questionalbe
Abraham has one win and that was against a middleweight
Kessler lost but I still have him up there
Froch is a proven holder but not better than Bute though he would provide a tough fight
    Green sucks
Dirrel is talented but has stuff to learn

Carl Froch is the Carlos Baldomir of the 168 lb division. A couple of good wins that belie his actual value as a fighter (damn lucky against both Taylor and Dirrell - and lucky Pascal was drained) and voila, he's champ and #1 at the weight. Oi vei.

This poll should be 50-50 between Bute and Ward. Not split almost even four ways.

This is coming from a big Abraham fan, too - he simply hasn't had enough time at SMW to be called #1. After winning the tournament, you could say that about him - but not until then.
