I'm not familiar with the ESB rankings policy, but I voted no anyway. Guerrero is no way the True Champion of the division or even close to it. In my view - like The Ring - the actual no1 gotta beat the actual no2 or in extreme cases no3 (Wlad-Chagaev, Mosley-Margarito after Tony beat Cotto) to be the true/lineal champ - or beat the lineal Champ, and I never rated and now definitely don't rate Klassen as no1-3. But in my view Mosley is the WW World Champ, Kameda is the Flyweight World champ, I still rate Pac as the LWW champ and yet to decide on Erdei's fate who could return to LHW, but I definitely don't think Dawson is the True LHW Champ. Obviously the title mess and moving up and down make these "Champ" rankings a bit chaotic, however I definitely rate Wlad, Pavlik, Mosley, Pac, Marquez, Darchinyan, Kameda and Calderon the guy to beat.
I can see your point of view but we have to base champ status on cosistent rules rather than opinion otherwise it becomes crazy.we do follow the simular rules to the Ring in that the Number 1 must beat the number 2, and in some cases number 3 fighter. I do not think much of Klassen either but he is in the top 3 almost by default as Soto has moved up and Linares took a tumble due to his loss agaisnt Salgado. Salgado then lost on the weekend. The theory has to be that Linares was over rated in the first place. So now we have Klassen as number 2 and he has alreayd been beaten by the number 1 guy. thats why I asked the question. btw I did the same for 1) Dawson after beating Johnson (3rd at the time) as the view was Hopkins (ranked 2) is looking to either move up in weight or retire, not fight Dawson. The posters voted that Dawson should be ESB Champ. Eredi is now a belt holder at Cruiserweight and will be ranked there until he moves up. 2) In a simular way to the Gurerrero question....Cunningham was ranked 1st and Huck in 2nd when Adameck moved to Heavyweight. Cunningham has already beaten Huck but the posters mainly agreed that Cunningham vs Huck 1 was a long time ago. Cunningham can beat Huck in a re-match of the number 3 fighter to become champion. 3) I did a vote last week putting forward your same Arguement on Mosley being ESB WW Champ. It was decided that as Cotto had beaten Mosley previously, Cotto would have still been ranked ahead of Mosley going into the Margorito fight. also with regards to Koki Komeda in the Minimumweight, Flyweight and Super Middleweight if any of the top 1,2,3 face eachother the winner will be ESB Champ as the top 3 are so close.
Who the hell put that cheating slug John Ruiz at #6 in the HW rankings? There's plenty better HWs out there than him.
