I saw the Cotto\Margo fight live and I really was thinking to my self around the 6-7 round that cotto was wearing down and Margo had this huge advantage etc.. etc... The next morning I checked ESB to get a better analysis.. Not to my surprise the majority of posters said Cotto took a lickin and was dominated and beat the hell up..:bart Well after watching it with the sound off (I already know HBO's motives) there is no doubt in my mind that with a few (very few) ajustments Cotto can win a rematch. Taking nothing from Margo, because the better man won on 7/26 but by no means was it one sided and by no means will Cotto stand low and not take a rematch even this year. Not sure wtf some idiotic posters where saying the next day. :-( I had it 6-4 Cotto going into the 11th. Margo is great fighter, I am more of a fan of his then anyone in the WW division (besides Cotto). He deserves all the credit in the world and I hope he either unifies or rematches with Cotto. All mexicans (im rican)should be proud that another ww gives boxing and the ww division mad respect. (**** Floyd) The future tells me that he will fight the winner of Clot/Jud and Cotto will fight a tune up and then fight Margo next year. This is what boxing is all about.. Doesn't get any better then this. :deal
a case where they were scoreing alot on aggression instead of accuracy and ring generalship ... if it would have went 12 ..we would have had back and forth arguements forever about how if you score it this way this guy won or if you scored it the other way that guy won
It could of gone either way really. But i just feel cotto was landing the cleaner shots. but margo was putting the pressure regardless of what cotto did.
I'm a Cotto fan and was rooting heavily for him. I watched the fight for the second time and without the emotion of hoping he'd win, it looked like he took a beating. One adjustment he can make is to either box and move laterally and when he has to, bob and weave, get inside throw some punches and try to tie up. What he needs to stop doing is that half bent over, peekaboo stance, with no head movement, right in Margarito's uppercut range. I still don't give him much chance in a rematch. That fight looks like a very good Jr. Middleweight fighting a very good Jr. Welterweight. Margarito is just too big for him.
No doubt. I came away from that **** realizing that Margo has a chin made from rail road steel. Cotto was landin' some major bombs early, but Margo never even blinked.
I mean Cotto lost and thats the bottom line. Usually a guy who loses doesn't look great but this wasn't as bad or ugly as people may think. :nono I also agree with the size difference.
I enjoyed my weekend throughly... Can't beat rocking out with Juan Ma.. Wish Cotto was there even though he lost. Partying with him is always a joy. :deal I don't gamble.
