Cotto was doing a good job of boxing in there, he was slipping shots and boxing well. He was taking too many body shots and really he was trying too hard to KO Margo. He should have stopped hitting so hard and tried to conserve energy. If he took less body shots and moved more he could have made it to at 12 round UD.

Watching the fight last night, I think PBF would take this to 12 UD. He moves more than Cotto and his stamina/conditioning is great. His defense also lets him avoid alot more body shots than Cotto was taking.

I think he would run and slip most of Margos shots and get the UD no problem. PBF would know from round 1 he had no chance of KOing Margo and would be in running and counter punching mode.

I just got done watching this fight in its entirety for the first time. I'm sorry, but Cotto got beatdown. I don't see any adjustments he can make that allow him win a rematch. I had Margo up 6 rounds to 4 going into the 11th. The only round that really went Cotto's way was round 1. He also won rounds 3,4 and 5. However, he was noticeably running more and was taking more punishment than Margo in those rounds.

And that's why I don't think he can win a rematch. Cotto had to become a runner to win this fight. However, that's not his game. His defense isn't good enough, and I doubt his ability to fight that style for 12 rounds against a guy like Margo. He started to fall apart mentally and physically as the fight wore on. He was blocking less and less punches; getting caught with more and more hard punches as he laid on the ropes. The writing was on the wall after round 2. From that point, it was only a matter of time before Cotto would be overwhelmed. Cotto is still a really good fighter. However, he just ran into the wrong guy. I thought his punches would slow Margo down and that never happened.
