Certainly they should vote. I only expressed my opinion.

The original sets of fights for the league were much bigger than some of the fights this weekend. And there have been fights left off that were bigger than these fights IMO. So my opinion was simply based on the precedent originally set.

You don't have to run it huki! It takes a lot of time and you probably have much better things to do. One of the reasons why only big fights were to be included was that it made running the league much easier - there were much fewer fights to score! If you want to make a rod for your own back and have people guess the result of pretty run-of-the-mill fights, it's your choice. Do what you want.:deal I won't post in this thread with any comment or advice anymore. :good

Fight like Dirrell-Hanshaw and some others were left off because I didn't have time to put them up. This weekend I'll post a vote thread for exactly what levels of fights should be included in vote threads and I'll follow that for the rest of the year.

I know I don't have to run it, I just wouldn't drop it after all these people have been participating in it for a while. It's really not a big deal or a lot of work, 1.5 hours at the very most. The only reason it's been a hassle is because of the arguing. It's also been a bit confusing for me because people want different things, but I agree that these aren't fights at the Dawson-Johnson level. They're not really different from the Guerrero-Litzau level though. I'll have the vote to decide on exactly what level of fights should be included, then it'll be easy to run the league and I won't need to change anything ever.

Huki, I think you miscalculated the %.

You have Kirkland vs Albert there but only 39% actually voted for that fight to be there. Granted only 32% voted for that fight NOT to be there too but IMO it should be based on the overall % voting it to be there, in which case it didn't meet the criteria of it being over 50%. I for example has never seen these guys fight yet when I voted, I only voted for Gamboa & Mijares fight but didnt actually vote "no" to the others, I just left it blank.

If we go by that, both those 2 fights failed to reach the 51% mark of people actually wanting the fight there whereas Mijares & Gamboa reached 70%+.

No, it's not too late. You'll start off with the median score.

We'll have a vote this weekend or early next week and everything will be figured out. My guess is that after this week, fights like the Kirkland one will not be included. This week will count though, so just post your picks and we'll see what happens when we have the final discussion about "big fights". After that, the league rules will be set and we won't have to argue about anything. :D

No one of the fights on HBO Saturday by itself is "BIG" in terms of the current standing of the combatants, but everybody who follows the sport knows the probable world-class upside of the three favorites belies their present ranking. Throw a trio of solid live dogs into the mix and you have some fights that are very exciting and ultimately meaningful to the sport - which, in a way, should be considered in determing "big" fights moreso than org ranking and staying name recognition/starpower.
