I don't know what your point was about the infinity, seemed a bit unnecessary. And besides, it isn't infinite, it's 12 more rounds. All of something isn't infinite :)

Either way, for most, winning double the rounds is pretty wide. It only seems close because the next score down is only winning two more rounds IMO and then it's a draw after that (If all rounds are 10-9 rounds) for the next score.

I'm pretty sure you're exactly right. Decebal could confirm.

the ratio is infinity, which is what i was reffering to, not the absolute amount of rounds.

anyways all im saying is that double is not that much, considering that if only 2 rounds go the other way, its a draw

You're right, the ratio is infinity. I was obviously referring to the fact that rounds are finite. You were getting me on ratio's because I referred to it being double. Touche...

Either way, double itself is still alot IMO. Yes, 2 rounds going the other way changes it, but we can do that all day with a fight. You have to draw the line somewhere. Winning 75% of a fight is ALOT.

9 rounds out of 12, 75%, WIDE UD

8 rounds out of 12, 66.6%, close UD

but i understand its a matter of opinion.

Lemme explain the way i see it.

Lets say I feel 2 fighters are pretty evenly matched, but i am confident in who the winner will be, the logical prediction would be to say "Close UD" right? well in this case it wouldn't be. Because by saying close UD I am predicting that the exact score will be 7 rounds to 5. However i can say Wide UD and include 116-112, 117-111, 118-110, 119-109, and 120-108. So even though i think they are evenly matched and taht itll be a close fight, statistically i might as well predict a wide UD

    :lol::lol:

True again. But still I would call it wide. That means that the other fighter only won 33%.

Or 7-4-1 or 6-5-1. Perhaps the values should be adjusted based on the lesser likelyhood of the prediction. But you very rarely hear anyone refer to a 8 rounds to 4 fight as a close fight.

I'm in agreeance with kg, a margin of 3 points or fewer I would consider close.
As kg said, doubling the rounds your opponent won is not close.

......and besides, when fighter is clearly winning round after round, late in a fight, alot of judges start giving out petty gift rounds that a fighter does'nt really deserve just because the fighter that was losing is now making the rounds closer......this makes the final scoring at the end closer than it should have been.

An 8-4 disparity can be close if the rounds were competitively close, but more often than not, 8-4 means it was pretty decisive!

    OK!!!

I AM BACK IN THIS THING!!!

    (cue the LL music...)

    "DONT CALL IT COME BACK!!!"

Now, it pains me to say this (as I love Manny) but...JMM 8-4.

I just dont see him blasting him out of there like he did at the beginning of the first one (or almost blasting him out of there). I think Marquez underestimated Pacman's speed and power in the first one...but once he became accustomed to it...he outboxed him easily. I see this one going a similar route, just minus the abomination that was the first round.

Still can give them lesser points than the mainevent. Those fights are more harder to predict. It's more challenging.
