Decebal, my friend, I'm afraid I don't like the concept of blue ribbon events, at all.

If there was to have been a blue ribbon fight this past weekend, it oughtn't to have been Pavlik-Taylor II. That's only my opinion, and likely not a very popular one, but surely you can see how I could make a very good case for why it was certainly no more important - and probably a good deal less important - than both fights from the undercard (or even Valuev-Liakhovich). Very ambiguous territory, trying to prioritize fights based on notability (by which criteria circus acts like Jones-Trinidad would be blue-ribbon) or 'significance' (very hard to find consensus on). Bad juju. IB does not like. Please take under advisement.

Just realized this is not technically entirely on-topic...though you did mention blue ribbon events, and this new panel will be responsible for them (if they are to be part of the league).

The point of blue ribbon events is that a lot more energy is expended in analysing such a fight. More is known about the fighters, their preparation, their form...so picks should be much more informed and as such, count for more than Montiel v. Castillo, for example, which, big as it was, I had to pretty much guess, since I could only get one or two youtube links and boxrec statistics!

in hindsight, Taylor v. Pavlik II might not have been an ideal case of a "blue-ribbon" event. However, Vazquez v. Marquez and Pac v. JMM and Calzaghe v. Hopkins...well...should THEY not count for more than Montiel v. Castillo? They are MUCH more contested on these boards, that's for sure...Much more is at stake for those who get THOSE right, and that should be mirrored in the scores, no?

Who votes on whether it is a clear robbery or not??? I can't wait to see when there are close fights, and people are screaming robbery, and different people have different scores, and have scored the fight differently how you guys manage this one. Turning it into a mockery IMO, because ONE poster got his panties in a bunch. I have never in my life seen a tipping comp where official decisions are not ruled, its part of sport...

His impartialness is questionable at best. Has a clear hatred of Pavlik and Taylor amongst others. As well as an irrational love of all things Calzaghe, Guzman & Mijares.
