No...50 points is good - it has to count for more than a correct stoppage pick and here is why:

If you pick A TKO 10 B and A stops B in the third round, you still get 35 points. If A wins by decision, you still get 15 points. If you guess, you have a 50% chance of getting 35 points or 15 points, depending on whether you guess stoppag or decision.

However, if you pick A "SD/Draw" B - which is unlikely to happen anyway, because usually fights end at least in a close UD decision...if A stops B you get 0 points, if A wins by decision you get 0 points, if A wins by MD you get 0 points, if the fight ends in a DQ you get 0 points...in other words, you have much more to lose if you pick this pick and should be compensated with more points as a result, to incentivise you to pick this pick when you think a fight is truly 50/50. If the incentive is not good enough, even if you are 90% sure it will by a "SD/Draw" fight, you will not take the chance but pick a UD or stoppage instead, so that you have at least a 50% chance of getting at least 15 points.

I think you wanted to change the old system because it's not perfect, but instead we've now got an even less perfect system. :D Bull**** SD's happen way too often in boxing when there is a clear winner and this new system makes judges' scorecards (which are wrong half of the time in close fights) more important than they should be. The SD/draw option will be used by people who want to get lucky and get a lot of points banking on having one judge disagree with the other two. SDs/MDs/Ds should all be part of the close decision picks. With this system, in the DLH fight for example, a person who picked Floyd by SD (thinking the fight would be extremely close) would get 2x+ as many points as the posters who picked Floyd wide or close UD. I'm almost certain that if you made a new vote thread that was only about this and you included my arguments, the old system would get more votes. We would get a lot more votes than 23 if the vote was part of the weekly thread and not a seperate one. People just clicked on adding the MD/SD/D option because they liked that it gives them more options when picking, not considering how it will affect the overall system.

No...SD's are uncommon, as are Draws. Just have a look on boxrec. It was the right decision to include this pick; no one would have picked "draw" on its own otherwise - too risky a pick and not enough reward for taking that risk.

We're not having another vote:deal ; already had this vote principally out of respect for you, as the runner of the league, and out of respect for your concerns on these matters, even though the vote changed nothing at all and implemented none of your proposals, as I was sure would happen.

It doesn't matter how common they are or aren't. SD's usually happen because one of the judges scores the fight like an idiot. Some recent examples from the league.. Campbell-Diaz and Mijares-Navarro. There's no point of making judges' scorecards more important than they need to be.

The funny thing is that I didn't even vote and so didn't a lot of other people and I'm almost sure people would be against it if arguments were made from both sides.. but fine, I'm not gonna ***** about it endlessly.

Your scoring system makes judges' scorecards more important than they need to be too, by having that arbitrary division between "close" and "wide", remember? But we stuck with that system because people voted for it...

Democracy rules the roost in our league!:deal

This is not Putin's Russia...and in any case, Putin likes the current arrangements!:bart
