Calling him anything less than the #2 SMW (which is the highest praise even his biggest fans ever give him) would be a case of underrating...

 

I wouldn't argue you on that rating. I just hope you're not part of the cadre from a few weeks back that was claiming he'd run Pavlik out of the ring, which is completely absurd. When I started hearing that, he made my "overrated" list.

 

Ah, see here's the problem. I rate Pavlik accurately (decent but eminently beatable middleweight) and you must be one of those who overrates him, thinking he could be competitive with top SMWs. :yep

 

Wlad by a country mile.

He'd be knocked out by any of the great heavyweights of the past. No matter how big he is, he still has one of the all time worst chins and his boxing ability is overrated too.

Honorable mentions to Floyd and Pac man.

Floyd never fought a prime fighter in Julio Cesar Chavez' class and never fought a prime De La Hoya. Whitaker did both, and arguably won both. Point being, the guy hasn't fought the level of competition to consider him top 15 p4p, which many here consider him to be.

Pac Man, wins against old Morales and old Barrera and now he's unbeatable. Marquez beat him first time around, and he will again.

The results of this poll prove that Calzaghe is the most underrated fighter in the world, by definition.

If everyone so many people consider Calzaghe overrated, then he quite simply isn't overrated.

 

Edison Miranda should be on that list.
