“Although it didn’t go as planned, I did my part as far as making the weight,” Escobedo said. “He didn’t, and to me, I felt like he had this planned the whole time, and it was a disadvantage heading into the fight.”

Escobedo needs to quit crying he took the padded payday in return for the fight. Shouldnt have fought him if he thought it was much of a disadvantage.

Honestly what choice did he have? You think walking away was going to endear him to GBP?

Endear him??Broner did not make the contracted weight he had a choice to walk away.once you accept the extra money then you should be quiet, hell you still get a title shot in your next fight.was it fair no???but he took the payoff

I don't know...maybe the guy boxes for a living and might not be able to afford to just forgo months worth of pay and possibly **** off his employers. I swear some people respond like that really have no concept of real life. :patsch

He had a choice to start complaining about it after he took the money. He chose to take the money, which means he shouldn't complain about the weight anymore. If he didn't take the money he could complain until he hit the grave and I wouldn't see anything wrong with it.

It's disgraceful that Broner acted the way he did, but...

Seriously. Escobedo won the lottery. He reportedly upped his purse dramatically and he can blame the loss on fighting someone a weight class above that didn't have to drain. Neither GBP nor HBO are the only games in town and both have competition that would love to help a rivalry. Besides, I seriously doubt the 'GBP' factor even comes into play. It's not like this dude was ever going to be a big player anyway.

Don't tell me he's still crying. Go home and be with your kid. You got paid more than what you've probably made in your entire career, and you get the first crack at the vacant. Stop crying so your kid doesn't think you're a sissy.
