He had to take the fight or be stripped. I'm guessing they took the weakest acceptable opponent of the belt org. I don't think Pavlik wants to fight yet but he wants to keep the title.

PW didn't want to wait any longer, understandably so.

I really don't think Pavlik is ducking Williams as much as you would all like to think so.

He will fight Paul next year and it will work out better for PW because if he beats Martinez he will have a better negotiating stance, Martinez is good and has a chance at the upset.

Pav's rep won't gain anything from this fight and if it goes the distance it will take a big hit.

If PW beats Martinez, I expect Pavlik to KO him and I expect an easy fight.

Maybe Pav can come in as a dog if he looks like **** against this bum since he is out of shape, and that would mean more money :scaredas:

I don't follow pavlik at all, but he's definitely ducked williams. He's nothing special. He'll win this and then who does he fight?... boring.

 

I like the underdog role, But Espino has to be another level of underdog...
