PAC did $800K without an undercard. Floyd had 2 popular fighters to help him. &800K for this stacked*fight card would be a failure in comparison. In fact, if it brings less than 1.6 it would be disappointing. However, if $800K is good for Floyd with help, what does it say for PACs name to pull the same with no help? This would also mean that while PAC's PPV increased 69% from his RIOS fight, even at 1.6 million Floyd's PPV pull would have decreased almost 30%

If he doesn't know the estimates a week later, it show how incompetent he is.

Networks like HBO and Showtime usually know the buy rate after a few days base on projections. For him not to know...it's either incompetence or ignorance or shame.

Showtime is bleeding money on this deal and he knows it.

like I said before the fight, the numbers won't be great
apart from a canelo rematch, I don't expect that to change in the future either

    EDIT : canelo...and pacman

I would agree that Pacquiao's fight vs Bradley would be considered a success in comparison to Mayweather's fight, if these numbers are accurate. It's unfortunate that Pacquiao is a humble, low key guy when it comes to these types of things. You won't hear him tooting his own horn or deriding Mayweather.

    800 K = Flop

    1mil buys = Flop

    1.1 mil buys = Flop

    1.2 mil buys = Flop

    1.3 mil buys = Flop

1.5 mil buys = Break even

Showtime is not in the business to break even. Two out of 3 fights showtime was losing money. They better do something about it.

Do these number include worldwide PPV's? Or just Showtime in America?

Im sure plenty of Brits bought it in the UK through the local provider.

most people are saying the 'real' number for Pac-Bradley was 650k not 800k

I love Pac, but I'm sure the fight was more than 200K. When the betting odds on Floyd is 12 to 1.. I'm betting you don't have more than a million buys.. Broner and Khan should have helped though.
I considered ordering the fight but man $70 is just way to much for what I thought would be boring fights. I'm sure many others thought the same, and with the audience being so let down with Canelo/ Floyd.. I'm sure many people didn't tune back in for his next fight.

I'm amazed that in this economic climate that they continue to charge 70 dollars for the fight. I would think if they lowered it slightly that more people would buy it. I prefer watching fights at sports bars though since it seems to make the fight a little more exciting. I understand that PPV fees in England are a bit more reasonable. Is that the case?
