    Round 7

Tapia is countering over the top with right hands as Han steps forward with his nonstop rugged attack, slapping hard at head and body. Big volley by Tapia, rattling Han even as he covers up and staggers back. Hook exchanges in the center of the ring. BIG RIGHT HAND by Tapia, spinning Han around making him dive between the ropes, steadying himself at the last second before pulling a Maskaev vs. Rahman spill. Nady gives him a standing eight, and Han is blasted a few more times before the bell saves him.

    10-8 Tapia

    69-63 Tapia

    Round 8

Tapia is warned sternly for low blows. Jay Nady says he is on the verge of taking a point. Tapia switches immediately to unambiguously high jabs. Straight right lead on the nose by Tapia, and a left shovel hook. Han swats with both hands coming forward, and eats a jab. Wild left hook by Han, dodged as Tapia circles. Tapia hurls an overhand right and shores up on Han's shoulder, while Han falls short with a low hook. Han is throwing arm punches, exhausted - but Tapia is losing snap in his work as well. Tapia stretches himself back and lines up a 1-2 while leaning down. Han is marching forward, blood leaking down the left side of his face. Big right hand by Tapia. Han is shaken in place but doesn't go backward. Han throws some wild shots coming forward and is jolted by a left hook.

    10-9 Tapia

    79-72 Tapia

Tapia is showing his worth. I like what I see from the young prospect.

 The video cameraman standing by Tapia caught a candid snipped of conversation where Tapia grinned to a camp member and said "Aw I felt like going at least another round :D"

...OK, Han didn't quit. According to Lupe Contreras, it was halted by Jay Nady - probably on account of the cuts.

Tapia is mad at himself for (slightly) gassing! :patsch

He says he got the job done, so all's well...

He says he is a warrior so he would never quit, even if he gets hurt or knocked down.

He compliments Han on his body shots, particularly the hooks.

He says he doesn't know what his future plans are - he was so focused on tonight. He says he will take on anybody; he is tough, he is from New Jersey.

He admits Han stung him with the body shot, but says he recovered and feels like he could scrap like that all day.

This kid has "it factor" - fan pleasing style and personality.

Passaic is not a friendly part of NJ so I understood what he meant. But I look forward to seeing him fight again. Great style. NJ!!!!
