If there was ever a time Mayweather can slide without a stellar co-feature, it is now. His last fight with Cotto was exciting. He actually delivered entertainment value to the casuals.

I agree that Canelo/Trout would have taken the card to a much higher level, but think this card will sell fine.

 

I doubt it most of Mares tickets are comped....

Things seem to be changing quickly. The Ring posted an article with quotes from Team Angulo that he was close to being added to the 5/4 card and now Schaefer says he will be on the 6/8 Maidana-Lopez card instead.

Guess Santa Cruz will indeed be on the 3rd fight on 5/4. Moreno would be a treat.

I'll wait till it is all finalized but Mares/PDL isn't making up for Canelo/Trout amongst the Mexican fans. Canelo is nothing short of 'national obsession' down there from the sounds of it. I'm not saying it will be a bad card or won't do decent numbers but I'd think it is possible to lose 200/300K PPVs without Canelo.

 

If canelo is so big why isn't canelo v trout on ppv?
