FWIW, I actually like PDL in the Mares fight at this moment. Mares is a fantastic figher but his power hasn't really followed as he's stepped up in class. Going up to 126 and fighting a warrior like PDL will prove to be a little too much, too soon. Either way, it's a real, relevant fight and tougher than Santa Cruz for Mares at the moment IMO.

 

I'm glad the Alvarez/Trout fight got moved. I'd rather see 1 big fight every week than see 4 in 1 day and then have a month of nothing.

 

I dont I will tell you exactly how this ends, what happend in Ponces last fight? headbutt bad cut, Ponce cuts easily being a south paw with that style....

Mares is a come forward fighter, who tends to headbutt the **** out of his opponents if he isnt busy going low... this fight is going to start and finish quick... clash of heads cut stoppage after four giving Mares and easy title.

Valid points but wasn't it Gonzalez who was cut to end that fight? Ponce was cut too but thought he was good to go from what I remember.
