The little break definitely worked in Douglin's favor. Douglin was looking burnt out

    Round 7

Benavidez is shooting a lazy jab on the outside, then bringing in a water-dragging straight right hand from behind the back. Douglin is jumping around him, working multiple jabs and some right hooks when not getting smothered by the bigger man. Douglin prods Benavidez in the chest with his right fist and then starts jabbing with it. Benavidez leans back and sits on the ropes, inadvertently CAUSING ALL OF THEM ON THAT SIDE OF THE RING TO COLLAPSE! The turnbuckle itself caved in, popping up from its support. Time out to fix it. Time in. Douglin invigorated. Douglin pins Benavidez on the ropes and starts raking him with uppercuts, elbows positioned against his chest to constrain him. Benavidez just covering his mandible and twisting away, trying a few cuffing left hooks behind the head but missing wide.

10-9 Douglin, stole it after the ring broke.

    67-66 Douglin

Yeah it definitely worked in his favor. I thought he was looking burnt out, it gave him time to recover.

    Round 8

Benavidez is eating three jabs for every one he lazily unfurls. Douglin quicker and hungrier. Douglin walks into an uppercut, buzzed momentarily. Benavidez is swarmed by high right jabs & hooks. Short chopping left hook inside by Benavidez. Douglin ducks a sweeping right hand and shoeshines the body. Wide uppercut by Benavidez, grazing the chin of Douglin at the bell.

    10-9 Douglin

    77-75 Douglin

I have it 5 rounds to 3. But he wont get the decisions. The Benavidez brothers are such hypejobs, I still see way more potential in jose though

    Round 9

Benavidez is walking back into the ropes as Douglin puts can-openers on the body on either side. Benavidez lures him onto an uppercut and rocks him. Benavidez is slamming his forearms into Douglin, trying a combo and not landing with the knuckles because of the close proximity with his gangly arms but hitting with the inside part of the arm, bouncing them off Douglin's face. Knockdown late in the round by Benavidez!

    10-8 Benavidez

    85-85

Mama's assistant coach says "We need a knockout. If you can't promise me a knockout in the next three minutes let's just walk away now and not even bother, okay?"

"I'll get it for you" says Douglin, looking dazed and deflated.
