ESPN : Andre Ward to fight on Cotto-Canelo undercard?

Does nothing for Ward if he fights a stiff. Ward needs to re-establish himself in the eyes of the viewers by going up against a legitimate opponent.

 

Interesting build-up idea.

Golovkin is vying for a show down against The Canelo-Cotto winner and Ward is vying for Golovkin.

 

If it's not against a big name I don't see the point Ward isn't exactly fan friendly

 

Great match up I'm thinking, Cotto Canelo will be all the more thrilling after people just witnessing Andre fight.

I doubt Cotto or Canelo are gonna give ward the kind of $$$ he's gonna want, especially since he's gonna want comain billing.

He'd LITERALLY HAVE TO GET STEVENSON OR KOVALEV FOR THAT $$$.

They're already PAYING GGG an estimated 1.5 mil each just for him to watch it.

I don't think the entirety of the undercard will get another $3 mil.
And ward ain't gonna take less.

Not that there isn't a source, I'm sure someone from ROC led them to believe that, but if they insist on him fighting, and for only 1 or 1.5 mil, vs someone like BHOP, or even porky medina, I could see this being the beginning of the end for ward.

 

Good as long as he keeps busy eventually he will fight a big Name my hope it's either

Degale
Kovalev
Or GGG if he mans up and comes to 168

 

Another thing....
Until Mayweather gives his formal announcement....
Don't expect any I's to be dotted or T's to be crossed in the actual Cotto Canelo fight

 

Who cares the winner should be fighting GGG anyways

 

I thought Mayweather Berto was official, even if not, we're not going from talks of Floyd Berto to Floyd Cotto. We may go from Floyd Berto to Floyd Amir at best.

 

How is DeGale a big name.
His claim to fame is winning a robbery over Dirrel.
DeGale will need several defenses and revenge over GG before he's a name.
I expect hell be losing that title by then.

He coulda fought GGG on this UC if ROC woulda put up the $$$, &....@168 if ward woulda made the concessions

We all know too well how BOTH Cotto and Mayweather have a way of bait and switch about them.

For once, we might actually be pleasantly surprised.

 

Hope its against someone good cause i dont want to fall asleep and miss Canelo making Cotto(e) bend the knee and send his quiter ass to retirement.
