http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/boxing/post/_/id/976/floyd-mayweather-vs-andre-ward So the writer suggests if Floyd wants to be the #1 ATG he should challenge Ward. I think we all know this will never happen and doesn't make much sense but it reminds me of a thread Cellz did not long ago about Floyd vs. Ward with headgear. I think Floyd is the best, most skilled and slickest fighter out there, but Ward is easily good enough to put his considerable weight advantage into effect and wear down Floyd with his body attack and leaning on him. I see Floyd able to potshot some and counter early, but Ward being good enough and big enough to do respectable on the outside and be able to get inside and lay into Floyd's body hard. I say Ward UD or late stoppage in a not very exciting fight. 3 weight divisions is just way too much to try to jump, even for a master like Floyd, against someone as skilled as Andre Ward.
I know, it will never happen and is absurd. When a major mainstream website like ESPN puts it out there I figure it is worth discussing. Then again, maybe not.
"the only way mayweather could beat andre ward would be if he somehow had super human speed to get away from wards pin point accurate punches, also he would have to have some of the best technical offensive and defensive skills boxing has ever seen.....oh wait...he does have all that. if manny wont fight him i say lets make this happen!" 1 Hour Ago
