That is why it is so important to support the good matchups. Numbers matter to networks. They don't really care about the sport. Ratings are the only way to let them know that matchups matter more than fighters.

Additionally, not supporting crap cards also sends the networks a message. Buying PPV's like May vs JMM sends the wrong message and leads to more crap cards like Pac vs. Margo.

 

Thats because he quit before Maidana really did some damage, I doubt he would quit again, after the backlash he got.

It's worth the risk for you because there's no worth you are risking. The money people look waaaaay differently then fans do.

And you cannot say it isn't Tito vs. Vargas situation, becasue that COULD be a possibility. Of course, moreso if Pac beat the tar outta him.

But really, Ortiz shouldn't even be mentioned along the possibilities of opponents for Pac or Floyd. Like Berto before, he's JUST starting to makea resume for himself. Just starting to gain a following. You don't **** that up in a cash out fight then HOPE the young guy recovers. Too soon for the likes of either.

Berto and Ortiz are barely on the level of Clottey, Cintron, Williams, and especially Cotto.

I like ortiz.. he has an exciting style but Pac would whoop his ass... It would be exciting for a few rounds!

 

Just think of the number of viewers a rematch could garner. Why not have them do it again in August?

That's whats wrong with the sport. These figures prove it works when you throw together two good young fighters. **** trying to keep people undefeated, if Ortiz was still undefeated the Berto fight would never have happened, you just know it.

 

And much more difficult to quantify. A very small segment of viewers are Neilsen rated. Furthermore, they don't track DVR's so a guy who recorded the fight to watch later doesn't count.

Plus, Saturday has historically been the least viewed day of the week. Why do you think the NBA always has the Lakers play on Fridays and Sundays during the playoffs?

 

Ortiz should not be put in there agaisnt floyd or pac, he's a future star and needs to be brought up slowly, give him a maidana rematch, a berto rematch and then a mega showdown with khan first.
