Dimitrenko at least put up a damn good effort. no one here expected as good a fight as it was. two points, if the uppercut was devestating, Dimitrenko wouldn't have been able to jump up immediately to protest the stoppage. secondly, isn't he Ukrainian, not Russian as they said all night?

I think the stoppage was fine. This is classic Dimitrenko. First 2 times he was dropped in the last 2 rounds, he was shaky, looked disinterested like he didn't know where he was, was facing the wrong direction with his hands down, then he gets rocked by 2 uppercuts and dropped hard for the 3rd time, ref stops it to save him and Dimitrenko is up in arms screaming BS/Robbery after looking for a way out. Classic Dimitrenko

 

I know that, but you aren't saving a fighter from further punishment by not giving a count. It doesn't accomplish anything... I mean you can at least count some and then call it if you think the guy getting up is a bad idea.

I'm all about saving fighters from unneeded punishment.. but calling it at the point that happened didn't accomplish that compared to at least giving a count.

 

Bad stoppage. I wanted to watch Dimi going down few more times and get KTFO'd

Idk, maybe, I only tuned in the previous round so I hadn't really been clocking the ref's behaviors or any biases he may have been showing tonight. Just based on the bit I saw, Dimi's legs were already splattered thoroughly across the ring like a big wet shart, and getting swatted from a clinch to a petrified timber-style free-fall would probably be enough for most refs to be like "okay, especially considering this is Dimi we're talking about here, enough..."

Ethnically Ukrainian, grew up Russian (and repped them in the ams), now a German citizen.

 

This fight demonstrates to me how far behind a guy like Parker, Jennings still is.
(That's awful sentence structure, but i'm tired).

Jennings sure weighs more than he looks.....He doesn't look any bigger than CW's.
