    Lopez is a jr welter ffs. I appreciate he's had a few pull outs recently but this is a joke. The size difference will be insane!

    I guess there weren't any actual JrMW's available? Just a JrLW who looked WAAY smaller then Ortiz? Lopez has heart, can't deny that. He'll keep trying. But this is a BS fight.

    Lopez is the WBC silver champ at Welter. We are talking about Canelo...He won the belt in a fight with Matthew Hatton. People been eating this **** up.

    anyway, would be nice if it lands on cbs.
    if it does, then with main events landing on nbc in december, this is a very positive trend for boxing :)

    Not sure how much, but it certainly won't help it. Though had it been Canelo-Ortiz on CBS instead, I'm sure HBO and Top Rank would be a lot more concerned.

    I wonder if CBS will be airing only the main event or the undercard too. Because a fight like Jhonny Gonzalez-Daniel Ponce De Leon would be great for network television. Really looking forward to that fight.

    Yeah, at Welterweight in his first fight at the weight. He was clearly small for the weight and it won't be long before Canelo is up at Middleweight! These two are two weight divisions apart in terms of size and just as far in skill.

    I'm a fan of Lopez and have been for a while. The man comes to fight, is a warrior and won't lay down for anyone (i thought he beat Jesse Vargas aswell from memory), but this fight is insane. I hope he gets compensated well if he takes it.

    I still think it's a problem though. To go up against the first Major network boxing show in like 20 years. on Mexican independence day with Canelo- Lopez and Gonzalez - Ponce De leon. And GBP could promote the fact that you can watch the Chavez Martinez fight on HBO the following week lol. Man Bob and Oscar will never work together after this.

    Yes at Welter, And Matthew Hatton is a Welterweight who was not world class. All I'm saying is this has been feed and eaten by the people already on HBO. Now, for free on CBS they gonna love it.

    Yeah, really. :lol: I'd love to see what Arum says about Oscar/Golden Boy behind the scenes.

    Would be nice though if they both go on the same date, that the CBS card started a couple of hours earlier. But I doubt it.
