How can you not have Jack Dempsey in the top 10? This isn't a valid list.

How do you justify Frazier over Foreman?

The fact that Foreman beats Frazier doesn't mean that I have to rank Foreman higher than him

Holyfield would ( and did) have the style to beat Foreman nearly every time maybe I should rank Holyfield above Foreman?:patsch

Some great fighters have to miss out on a top 10 and Dempsey's poor resume ( best win was probably Sharkey) and not beating the best in his era counts against him - besides I've got him at number 11

    11. Jack Dempsey
    12. Wladimir Klitschko
    13. Sonny Liston
    14. Harry Wills
    15. Ezzard Charles
    16. Jim Jefferies
    17. Gene Tunney ( only had a few fights at heavyweight)
    18. Vitali Klitschko
    19. Floyd Patterson
    20. Jersey Joe Walcott

    Thats enough for now!

I like Sugar. I really do. He helped me get into boxing history. But he has his obvious flaws (Holmes deserves way more credit; he just might the greatest hw of all-time). But I wouldn't call Sugar a mere folklorist or a disreputable historian. The guy had a great wealth of knowledge and charisma to go with it.

Man, sometimes, I think that Dempsey, like so many "old-time" and/or "controversial" fighters, are just so difficult to rate for various reasons. But I'd still have him in my top 15 at worst. I'm guessing Dempsey is somewhere immediately after his top 10, maybe even at #11? I don't think that's entirely unreasonable in some perspectives.

    Easy.

He doesn't belong. Relatively ****py resume, ducked his two best threats, stayed inactive for too long.

Top 40 for sure but not Top 10.

We actually agree 90% but what the fukk did Tunney do at heavyweight that is better than Frazier?

And I can only assume you are not including Wlad because his career is not over. On paper, he has controlled the division for 8% of its existence MOQ-like.

I never said it did. But why do you rank Frazier over Foreman?:rofl

If you want, though i wouldnt. Interestigly, i think Holyfield and Frazier match up pretty close together in an ATG ranking with Frazier getting the nod due to his dominance early in his career although Holyfield seemed to have a longer prime.

I also think that Holyfield Frazier would make a damn good fight, to be honest. My money would be on Frazier but i definitely wouldnt count Evander out.
