    What do you guys think?

This is very weird ... I thought the WBC had more loyalty towards Floyd and as I see it ... I don't know how Berto cruised up the ranks like that - I haven't seen him fight a notable top 10 contender by the WBC. He does have that regional belt though ...

What do you guys think? ...

Floyd has been known to say that he doesn't need a belt ...

I don't see what the problem is. These sanctioning bodies have rules. Mayweather has decided not to follow these rules and he will lose his belt as a result. This has nothing to do with loyalty, and I'm sure Floyd won't take it personally.

Not sure i believe it;doubt the WBC would strip him. They let superstar fighters do what the hell they like and dont bother them with things like mandatories unless lawsuits etc are issued.

Floyd made a defense of his title against Ricky Hatton ... at the time they fough Hatton was ranked #1 by the WBC.

The WBC let Oleg Maskaev keep his title over almost 2 yrs before he fought Peter.

And they were thinking about letting him make another voluntary defense before he fought Peter.

Then they let Vitali Klitschko come back w/o fighting in any eliminators and jump right into a title fight.

More times than not what Dan Rafael says comes to light ... and he wouldn't have posted it if it weren't true.

He said that Berto v Rodriguez will fight for the interim title ... Humberto Soto defended his interim title a few times before going after another strap - so did Arce.

Maskaev was injured. That's why he was able to keep his title. Vitali is the champion emritus, which is why he can fight for the title. If Floyd is stripped, the WBC will let him fight for the title anytime he wants.

He is holding that belt hostage. They should take it.

He hasn't fought a welterweight since November 2006, so it's understandable, but the fact that is Andre Berto who is the mandatory just shows you how corrupt the organizations are.

Was the decision to make Timothy Bradley the no.1 contender at 140 also corrupt? Who should be ranked no.1 by the WBC at 147?

its about ****ing time the WBC did the right thing people will say Floyd doesnt need the belt fine then let it be that way, let him hold on to his Ring trinket and claim to be the best he wont fight any of the top Welters out there nor will he defend so the WBC is making the right choice.
But here is the Kicker Floyd will fight who ever wins that belt next beleive that, so in a sense the WBC will be helping Floyd duck the Margarito Cotto winner.

Floyd isn't injured and is choosing not to defend against his mandatory, therefore he's losing his belt. Disappointing, but not surprising, and probably long overdue.
