A guy like Miguel Cotto, or Carlos Quintana, or Antonio Margarito, but the alphabet organizations won't allow you to be a contender if you hold the title in another division.

Another case where it was ridiculous is when Zab Judah kept his IBF belt after losing to Carlos Baldomir because Tata didn't pay extortion fees.

And then the IBF strips Mayweather after beating Judah because he didn't fight......Mark Suarez.

I don't think Floyd would want to fight Berto.

Berto is a easier fight for Floyd than Cotto or Margarito why wouldnt he? Thats what Floyd does that is what Floyd is about.

True, but I know that Floyd would rather take less money and fight a guy he can beat than test what he is made of, This is the problem I have with Floyd with all the skill and craft he has, he does not have the back bone to go out there and put those skills to the test, he seems to not want to know how he will fair in a hard fought bout, so what is the point in having them skills if your affraid to test the waters?

    What makes you know that?

He'll take the easier fighter if the money is equal, or maybe if the tougher opponent is only a little bit more money, but Berto and Cotto represent a huge difference in money.

Im a Berto fan but the dude isnt even a top 5 WW yet, maybe not even top ten.

To have him fighting for a title now is absurd, just more proof that these alphabet soup orgs are utter shiit.

Floyd is bigger than the ABC's anyway...
he don't need them anymore he's "Superfight" status already.
(That said tho, WBC championship is my fav ABC org strap by far...that title is beautiful)

It doesn't make sense to rank other champions. They won't take short money if a unification bout goes to purse bid. They also have their own mandatories which would further complicate the situation.

They're not extortion fees, they're sanctioning fees. How the hell are they supposed to operate without generating income?

Mayweather voluntarily gave up his belt, he was never stripped. I bet if Witter would've gave up his belt rather than face Bradley, everyone would've whined about how undeserving Bradley was to begin with.

That's nonsense anyway. Cotto's not as big as a draw as De La Hoya, but he's still one of the bigger names in the sport, and I doubt Mayweather and Elerbee are really dumb enough to not know this.
