No, I don't work for them. However, I'm tired of people complaining about everything they do. They do so without even thinking about what they're saying.

I gave good reasons for why they do this. I didn't just blindly defend it. These guys recognize the importance of unification, which is why they have made it easier and why they even publically encouraged it. However, it's counter productive to rank the other champions.

Of course he should be stripped like any other champion. That's what happens when you avoid KILLA COTTO.

Seriously though, its for the best. Let people that actually wanna be champs and feel they have something to prove hold the belts and be called champ. Not someone who says they don't even like boxing.

No, its counter productive to NOT rank someone who clearly deserves a ranking.

There have been plenty of times where title holders unify in spite of the alphabet soups. Meaning, one has to give up his belt in order to make the fight or very soon after.

If these scumbags ranked fairly, Margarito wouldnt have to give up his belt to fight Cotto! Cotto would have never HAD to fight Urkal in a pointless match. . . Pavlik wouldnt have to face Locket in a pointless match. Wlad would never have faces Austin in a pointless match. . . .the list goes on and on and on.

You are WAYYYYY off base here. As a boxing fan who obviously pays attention - I expect better from you.

Let's look at the positives here. With Berto holding the WBC belt, we can actually look forward to some interesting title defenses at 147. Soto Karass, Collazo, and Hlatshwayo are all in the current WBC top 10. Get Cintron back in the mix and there are a few decent fights to be made.

It's not a matter of what a fighter derserves, it's a matter of practicality. It's not practical to rank other champions. It will be hard to convince them to take the short money(they would be the challenger and would be obligated to do so), and they have their own mandos to worry about. Furthermore, Champs only have 1 mando per year. They have plenty of time to unify.

That doesn't happen as often anymore. Many times, it's the fighters/promoters that prevent unification.

Margo doesn't have to give up his belt. He could easily file an exception. However, his promoter is making him give up the belt so that Clottey can fight for it.

You want to know why Cotto fought Urkal? Urkal was supposed to fight Quintana for the vacant belt. Arum paid Urkal step aside money so that Cotto could fight for the title. As a result of this arangement, Cotto was obligated to fight Urkal.

Pavlik doesn't have to fight Lockett. There was a whole list of people they had in mind for this fight. They settled on Lockett, and are using his mando tag to rationalize this fight.

Austin fought former WBO champ Ibragimov to a draw.

"You are WAYYYYY off base here. As a boxing fan who obviously pays attention - I expect better from you."

It is because I pay attention, and really analyze these situations that I've come to my conclusions.

"Its not a matter of what a fighter deserves" ?????? WTF???

You know what, like I said your normally a good poster but this crap is downright absurd.

Why the hell should AM go begging the IBF to allow him to fight Cotto??? instead of a rematch with someone he clearly beat not long ago??? Thats just stupid.

How the hell did Urkal ever earn a shot at the title to begin with, hew never even a top ten WW by ANY reasonable rankings.

If you think Austin was a worthy #1 contender then god bless.

I have nothing more to say on this issue other that - the sooner these alphabet soup orgs go the way of the dinosaur the better.

It is not absurd. How is it absurd for an organization not to insitute an impractical policy? Margarito may derserve $10 mill to fight Cotto. Guess what? It's not practical, therefore it won't happen.

Number 1, he doesn't have to beg anyone. He could've gotten it with relative ease. Number 2, Clottey earned his ranking before Margo got the belt. Number 3, you're missing the bigger point which is that Margo's promoter is the one that is effectively stripping Margo. It was his plan the whole time for the winner of that fight to vacate.
How the hell did Urkal ever earn a shot at the title to begin with, hew never even a top ten WW by ANY reasonable rankings.

I can't really comment on that as I don't know who else was ranked at the time. I do know that no one had a problem with Wlad fighting a guy who fought Austin to a draw.

apples to oranges, they obviously have no control over the amount of money being paid. They do have control over their rankings and to not rank someone who clearly deserves it is just dumb

You dont know that, besides he shouldnt have to ask. when a fighter is facing a much higher ranked fighter than the bogus mandotory he should should be allowed to fight him, thats just common sense

just take a wild guess, where would you have Austin ranked at the time??? doesnt haveto be exact, just approximate.
