If you don't have a good comeback you don't have to respond, in fact you probably shouldn't. It just reinforces how badly you can't keep up with me. You never could.
Lineal is irrelevant. Its purpose was to identify the champ and best boxer of a division... not the best manager, most ducked fights or best business team. Unfortunately at 160 and 175, lineal simply identifies the latter qualities not the former. Its just an odd sport like that. Due to business realities you often have the best fighter on one hand, and the guy who beat the guy etc on the other. If GGG wants to hit PPV status etc, he needs a Cotto to fight. If Cotto wants to be recognized as the best MW, he has to beat Golovkin. Its as simple as that.
Why? Because YOU say so? That would need to be *proven* in the ring. That's why the fights are fought - to PROVE who is the best. No. Cotto is the best middleweight by virtue of the fact that he already beat the best middleweight. Exactly WHO has the Triple Duck beaten?
GGG has beaten a lot more rated MW than Cotto thats for sure. The fact that Martinez cannot continue his career due to knee now puts irrefutably on paper that he was a shadow of himself in their fight. Not that its anything everyone who actually watched the fight did not know already, but it doesnt even make a good troll now. Has nothing to do with me or what I say, it just is what it is. Beating a one legged guy then not fighting anyone else at the weight gives you stuff for your business card, not sporting credentials. If Cotto wanted to be recognized as a Champ at 160 he should have at least beat up Rubio who was his mandatory, instead of leaving that job to GGG. I said as much at the time, not just post-demolition. Cotto waiting to fight an Alvarez for money makes business sense, and I certainly dont blame him on a personal level. But he has done nothing to further his cred as a 160 fighter let alone the "best" 160 fighter.
Great post that sums my thoughts on this lineal nonsense perfectly. Cotto and Stevenson won't be recognized as the best until they beat GGG and Kov. Picking off vulnerable lineal Champions without any prior accomplishments isn't convincing.
If you rate the Martinez that was in the ring with Cotto that night, well thats your opinion. Do you honestly think Cotto would even fight GGG? If he did, do you think he has even a 20% chance of winning?
Martinez was the top dog. This fact is not debatable. Cotto beat Martinez. That makes Cotto the new top dog. Golovtards may hate how it all adds up but it is what it is. What I think doesn't matter. All that matters is what takes place in the ring. If Triple Duck wants to be top dog @ 160 then he'll have to agree to 80/20 and whatever Cotto's terms are and beat him in the ring...
I do find it pretty amusing that you have such a nasty personality despite basically holding fast to the boxing equivalent of believing the world is flat.
