I just went back and checked... I have no idea what I read when I first read Badbot's post.

Yeah, ESPN Deportes were spot on. Maybe I processed it as they Beltran winning by 1 round, I merely glanced at it.

 

So you think a guy that spends 5 years in a POW camp, then gets out and comes home only to vote for getting the US involved in every war put before him, so that 10's of 1,000's of 18 year old kids can share his fate or possibly much worse? Is flawless? Not everything goes back to Trump, this has ZERO to do with Trump for the record, UTF and I have felt this way about McCain when he ran for President back in 2008, with me it's even longer. What happened to him in Vietnam was tragic, and I feel for him, but I also feel for all of the children that he sent to their deaths. If he'd have had his way we'd not only be at war with Iraq and Afghanistan, but Iran and Russia as well, he never met a war that he wasn't madly in love with. Its kind of a huge character flaw of his.

 

One more thing, my Grandfather fought in World War 2 all over the Pacific, he received 4 medals, 3 of my great uncles fought in WW2 as well, all in Europe, four of my great uncles fought in Korea, 2 uncles fought in Vietnam, my cousin fought in the first Gulf War, and I had 2 younger cousins fight in the Iraq War. I can trace my family back to the Civil and Revolutionary Wars, they fought on both sides in the CW. And I have done nothing but honor and respect them my entire life. So **** you.

 

Well try not implying that I'm somehow dismissive or disrespectful of our veterans with your blanket cliched talking points next time. Because in no, way, shape or form am I.

Strongly disagreeing with the policy positions of a man who voted for war after war with zero regard for human life for the majority of his time in congress is something that can and should be criticized, being a POW and a soldier, while incredibly admirable doesn't give you full blown immunity for all of the horrible decisions you make later in life. You do understand that right? Many tyrannical dictators throughout history served in the military and fought in wars before they seized power, should they get a pass?

 

The fact that you think I'm comparing McCain to dictators, kind of highlights how unbelievably stupid you are. Let me spell it out for you. Serving in a war and being a POW does not absolve you of all wrong doing for the rest of your life. Got it? There's been a lot of bad guys serve in war and POW's they don't get a pass for the really bad things they've done, and there's been a lot of fairly good guys that have made some really bad calls and shouldn't get a pass for it either.

Don't come along and cast aspersions on UTF and I, like you know our innermost thoughts and why we have the POV that we have, in a shallow attempt to score silly political points. McCain was a nice guy and did a lot of good, but his views on foreign policy were downright despicable, and quite frankly indefensible.
